Adeeb1395
How much boost an fhe rod can handle on td04?
richardc9052
From my research they can take .8-1.0 that's with 4efte pistons and should be safe with a good map. That's what I'll be running anyway
Azz
You can go up to 1.3 but you've got balls lol I ran 1-1.2 for over a year with no problems
Adeeb1395
The rods are from 5efhe not 4efte....how much 5efhe rod can take on td04 safely?

daniel_g
LOL! Please don't run 4 bar -.- hahaIve ran 4 bar daily for 2 years now, had absolutely no issues whatsoever.
yaristurbo
4BAR you can't be serious...Big boys run 8 lol
Phil
point is fhe rods and fte rods will take whatever boost a td04 can give them indefinitely with a good tune. No chance a td04 needs the sort of revs that would try a fhe/fte rod (with a good tune) So your rods arent a limiting factor. daniel_g
4BAR you can't be serious...Big boys run 8 lolWas waiting for a pic to load up in that space haha. No i dont run 4 bar, and to the OP not that many folk run FHE rods but they are thick as fuck and i bet the ringlands will go waaaaaaay before FHE rods fail.So just turn the boost up and up until it gets sketchy or stops making power
richardc9052
interesting your the first person to say that other than Jamaican lads
Adeeb1395
4 bars? = 57 psi? r u serious!i hv heard it cn take 17 psi on tdo4 safely.it so confusing!
Phil
Haha you've picked up on the joke in this thread.Seriously 5efhe rods can take whatever a td04 can give them within the standard rev limitPhil
daniel_g
You dont need to worry about the rods, they will probably be the last thing to break. I was joking when i said 4 bar. 1.2 bar or whatever will probably be a good pressure to run, but it also depends on what comp ratio you have, octane of fuel used etc.

Phil
ok then i have decided to run 1 bar on my (5efhe>to>5efte) can any one help me with this prob?? if i run a high comp boosted engine(5efhe stock) how much max boost i can put through a tdo4-hl? Depends where/when the engine starts to knock, get it well set up and see how far it can be safely taken. whats sort of fuel you running? Phil
5e colin
5efhe rods wil take 1.4 bar at 7200rpm limiter but the stock 4efte pistons will fail wel before that i tryed that before
Adeeb1395
what about 1 bar with 4efte pistons at 7200rpm limit??and by the way in our country its very low graded fuel. ron rating is 80-
