koolza132
Just wondered what the rough temp should be when wanting to boost as since i have Heat wrapped my manifold it sits around the 70/80 area Or a quarter On the dash gauge??
koolza132
Sometimes it doesn't even creap above the 60 if I'm just driving like a granny
WallaceGlanza
The water temperature should always be the same around the 90deg mark (right in the middle with the useless standard gauge), even when driving normally, that's the whole point of the thermostat - it sounds like you need a new one. DevonGT
Just wondered what the rough temp should be when wanting to boost as since i have Heat wrapped my manifold it sits around the 70/80 area Or a quarter On the dash gauge?? It's the oil temp you want to know not the water. Also does seem like your stat. Edited March 20, 2014 by DevonGT
koolza132
How do you know the temp of your oil? And I'm having another problem i noticed earlier i was keeping an eye on my boost gauge it My boost literally pulls till it hits 30psi I'm gathering it has no fcd as its never cut out before is this really bad and what do i do to get it sorted out? Amjad
Look for an FCD and rip it out. Then reduce the boost vis actuator or boost controller. Oil temp is what you wanna look at for boosting. Get a gauge

koolza132
Found the problem the wastegate pipe had popped off and was making the gauge read well over but now I feel like it doesn't pull as much as it did :/
richardc9052
Erm dude if the wastegate pipe popped off then it was probably reading boost which is usually taken from inlet mani but the wastegate wasn't receiving pressure so wouldn't have opened at all..You where running 30psi for definite.. Put clamps on you vacuum piping from now on your lucky to still have a bottom end
koolza132
Ok well that's lucky since I just had to renew my head gasket well I enjoyed that 30 psi while it lasted it was like a tunnel vision

Mad Mike EP82
I wouldn't be worrying about coolant temps 30psi on td04 overspeed, bearing failure, lean as fuck afr will melt exhaust wheel, pistons, valves etc your rate lucky if you haven't done this.
mikey4410
my coolant is constantly at 80 and will go to 90 degrees if in traffic
