big wong97 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Thinking about putting a momo steering wheel with a quick release. Was just wondering do the jam ecu's turn the airbag light off or would i need to go to a toyota specialist to get it turned off? Quote
Jay85 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) Neither dude, once the airbag is off, use a volt meter set to ohms and test the resistance of the airbag, then go to an electrical shop and buy a resister with the same ohm resistance and connect it between the two wires on the air bag plug. Then reset the ecu and all is good I'm the world and it's only cost you 20p or so 😝 Edited April 7, 2014 by Jay85 Quote

Jay85 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I just took my bulb out for mot ;)Sod doing that each year!! The resister is a full time fix! Quote
Whitenoize Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I know I will prob do the same when I get round to it lol Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I took the bulb out and just left it like that Quote
hookie663 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Shud it not be. All the same resester 4 them all I've this problem Quote
Jay85 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 No, not all ways if the passenger air bag is larger for instance it will have a larger charge to seri toff at the required speed so the resistance may be different Quote
morgey Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Also the normal ecu doesn't control it. It has its own separate ecu for it. Quote
littlegreenmonster Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 My airbag light isn't on and I have an airbag light lol :/ Quote
