Chops
Hey all, started a new thread cause the problems with my cars electrics seem to go on and on lol. I just managed to change my alternator out after it being sat for week, and now it wont start. when i put my jump pack on it it cranks a little bit then dies, theres no stuttering of life at all. interestingly, when i set the ignition barrel to on the temp gauge goes mad, way off the end of the end to its maximum point, and the engine light comes on. no idea what im doing with electronics really, i was hoping someone on here might be able to help with this! Chops
Chucked a new battery in today, still wont start. the temp gauge thing has moved over to the boost pressure gauge, that now maxes out when i turn the ignition to on. dismantled the dizzy to inspect cause its quite worn but my phone died so i couldnt take a pic to show on here. anyone got a pic of a knackered rotor arm/dizzy cap for me to see and compare it? would be a massive help. also couldnt get any arcing when i pulled one of the ht leads off of the dizzy and cranked it over, but i dont think its the king lead cause i just put that in. helllp! Chops
No lol, none at all. I checked it all over like mad the day before japfest, up untill silly oclock making sure everything i could check was good to go. woke up late and missed the convoy as an ironic result, and broke everything booming flatout down the motorway in the rain playing catchup lol. massive fml times for me. my 'new' impreza is pretty dead at the moment too, stutters n overheats like mad. Chops
Could this be my igniter, or whatever its called bolted to the firewall?
5T4R7ET N/A
yes, it has a black bracket that has to be earthed. you wont get spark if its not earthed.

Chops
Fixed! turns out the king lead was dead, and then the injectors or whatever is earthed to the intake mani wasn't bolted back on when i replaced the sensor on the end. the king leads tempory replacement is a bit ghetto, made it outta some cable im gonna use at some point so its about 3 meters long and is coiled all over the bay lol. Chops
sits on around 14/14.2. the ghetto king lead makes it all feel a bit funny, engine note sounds different and it hesitates on boost so i didnt push it, just limped home. the new alternator whines a bit too, sounds alot like a supercharger lol.
