stephan777
Hello, I want to buy a Forged 5efte. Setup: JE Piston set5efhe conrodsStock headgasket and bolts + toyota bearings I have a td04l turbo. How many hp can i have on this block? And what is the max boost with the td04l? 1,5 bar?? I have 360cc injectors. Is this good or do i need 440cc injectors? Stephan from Holland Edited August 26, 2014 by stephan777
Gilly
You should see well in excess of 285hp but it depends on your tune and your engine setup, why don't you go for some scat rods? max boost people run is 1.4 bar on a td04L, you will need bigger injectors also then the 360s you have at the moment. 440s would be a much better choice or just to give you that little bit extra get some 460s with you going 5E. what management you planning to run? stephan777
Because the 5efhe rods are very strong. I have a greddy emange blue. And i have a fuel pressure regulator to.
Gilly
Because the 5efhe rods are very strong. I have a greddy emange blue. And i have a fuel pressure regulator to. fair enough, emanage blue will run the 460s but will run a little rich on idle because the blue can't back the injectors off. stephan777
285hp is good enough. Is 300hp possible with a td04l? daniel_g
If you run a higher compression on the 5E i reckon you could possibly achieve 300 or near on a TD04 @ 1.4 bar.Infact maybe that would be too much boost (depending on the C.R) would just be a case of turning up the boost until knock was detected and then wind it down a bit. amatthews45
Wow! I thought the 5efte engine needed more stuff than just pistons to be forged. Sounds like a ideal cheap way for more boost to me
richardc9052
Throw a set of 4efte pistons and a good head gasket on one and it will take a td05 at 1.2 bar with a good tune
Gilly
stefan is J,E not floating pin ?????? dont tink it will fit oem rod ???? This is a very good point and needs to be considered, i personally don't know but can find out.
amatthews45
How easy is it to find one of these blocks with the thicker rods? They pricey? Because my dead 4efte has pistons. That means all I need is a good headgasket kit
richardc9052
I have one needing crank re ground, not for sale and that's how most of the 5e's out there sit, hidden, waiting to be built
5e colin
Throw a set of 4efte pistons and a good head gasket on one and it will take a td05 at 1.2 bar with a good tune i did that exact setup with my mines and sard fpr bit rich down low but spot on at the top end personally i think the tdo4 is to small on a 5e it will drop of like a ct9 ( but not that bad !! ) on a 5e thats why i said tdo5 :)
amatthews45
So how much is a 5e? The good one with thicker rods?
richardc9052
Your looking at spending the same as buying a good 4efte really
