Ep82 under seat amp? Info? Rare?

Hey guys how many of you ep82 have the factory starlet amp?

I belive its under one of the front seats I seen one for sale on yahoo auctions

Are they hard to retro fit?

Going to look shortly for a loom under seats to see if I can get one and plug it in.

if I am wrong please correct me haha

I think I have one under my seat. Am yet to take it out and have a look.

I like the smaller optional extras

A speaker amp would be a nice addition to the uprated speakes in the car

I like my music loud but not OTT I not gonna add anything aftermarket and chavy

Doesnt look like I have the wires unless tucked under the carpet

Little offended lmao. I am going to bin that amp for a nice Modern amp. Not chavey. Just I want my Starlet to have a nice audio system. So it'll get replaced with high quality parts, for CRISP, sound. I'm not a big fan of loud noises, but can appreciate a clean sound.

If anyone's looking for a high quality amp that will easily fit under a seat and is suitable for powering the front speakers then I've got one of these:

These amps are in a totally different league to any of the crap you'll find in halfords but you'll need some half decent speakers to make the most of it, Starlets aren't the best of cars when it comes to audio as the standard speaker size and location is awful. 4 inch speakers under the dashboard are rubbish.

Gonna see if the loom under my carpet later if not gonna order a retro sony amp to match up with my other sony gear.

You should have the loom there, all the GTs ive seen / had have a couple multiplugs taped away along the door

I will have a good rummage shortly if I do then I will get a factory amp.

I seen the toyota cd changer loom In boot and behind the strero.

Wonder how the cars speakers work without the amp compleating the circuit

These the only loose plugs I found had a good feel under the whole carpet nothing :/

Check for this part of the loom halfway along the OS sill. My other starlet has thia and wasnt fitted with an amp as an extra.

And this part of the wiring comes with the amp im sure, but should plug and play with the normal GT loom

Sorry, did I want to sell my amp? I was probably going to put it in the loft and put it back in when the car goes for sale.

Mine has the loom underneath the drivers seat. it seems to come out of the carpet near the handbrake. i don't have an amp but I assume that's what that wiring was for.

I cant find the loom so I fould a retro sony stereo to match all the rest of the stuff I got. Hopefully its not to big to go under the chair

I had a black box under my seat in the first gt I had.never did find out what its for
