I heard a golf tdi go past the other day and when it chattered it got me thinking . Does anyone know why when a turbo fitted to a deisel engine chatters it sounds so diefferent to one fitted to a petrol engine ? Or is it just me ?

Exactly the same around my area too, even worse they all think it sounds great and does my fucking head in!

Main reasons for the diffrent chatter sound is that diesel motors have lower rev range, colder exhaust gases, lower turbo spin speed and no back pressure on throttle close.
