Ollieh17
Just bought a lightened cusco flywheel and getting round to installing it soon. Is it a cause of just bolting on and alls good. Or does the engine have to be in a certain position, top dead centre etc? Been told is does but don't see the difference it would make
Socks
Engine doesn't need to be in any particular position.... as your not altering timing.... Just make sure you use NEW flywheel bolts and torque them to the correct settings. you DO NOT want that coming loose believe me!
turbo Grant
Just bolt it up

Socks
For the sake of £3.... Its something id treat as very chuffing dangerous if it comes loose or out of balance like that... Hence why drag racers have to use those flywheel blankets...
Phil
Oh don't get me wrong I can see why you wouldn't want to get it wrong. But just never heard of using new bolts until you stuck it in capitals.Your at the sharp end of things their with racetech, do they recommend new flywheel bolts or have they had flywheel issues?Like you say for the sake of 3quid, wouldn't be taking a chance if folk have had issuesPhil Edited October 21, 2014 by Phil
daniel_g
New flywheel bolts should come with loctite on them, and i just put a wee bit extra on just to make sure lol.
