weeman Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Not really looked into them as I know they can be a engine killer! Can they be used a launch control as in building boost at a stand stillOnly asking as my ecu doesn't have a launch control feature and I'm chasing times on the 1/4 mile and I seem to bog down abit off the line Quote
Ethanep82 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Isn't that what they are suppose to be used for anyway? Quote
maddox710 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Yeah they build boost by cutting the ignition Quote
Lawless Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Just bought an omex one for the same reason see how it goes 😁 Quote
TrisK Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 all work on the same principal. id personally go for a bee*r Quote
jayc-glanza17 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Steve.. Look at boost controllers for boost by gear. What ecu do you have? As it be best to have an ecu controlling boost as well. Quote

weeman Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 I have the ecu and a hks evc6 controlling boost by gear problem is the fwd launch fine by the wheels spinning the 4wd wants to bog down unless you go with dans approach haha and I've done 2 gearboxes and 3 clutches already 😆 Quote
RobSR Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Bee*R's work in a different way to the omex as far as I'm aware. Bit more crude. I wouldn't run a Bee*R, last one i fitted to a GT it lasted about 2 1/2 days Quote
ianmcintoshi Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Horible machines... would put one anywhere near my cars. Quote
weeman Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 Are the omex 1's any better? Or still just as bad may just go with a new ecu Quote
jayc-glanza17 Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Steve I'd personally get an ecu that you can map launch control in ie timing and fuel..Bee r are very crude, I know George ran one few years ago.. Quote
