seab Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Hi Guys,I am still lurking, so I sold my RX7 as it wasn't really my cup of tea and have gone back to what I know best, an Evo VI GSR.My FD3s thread can be found here:http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/89515-my-new-fd3s/ So the full specs so far are thus: Stock Engine at 76k milesGizmo EBC @ 1.6barStock ECU remappedWalbro pumpARC intercoolerGanador Titanium Exhaust18" OZ Superleggera (not my cup of tea, to be replaced soon).Tein Lowering springs on standard shocks Plans are just to remove the Gizmo and plumb the solenoid to the stock ECU and get Indigo GT to remap it to 1.5 bar boost. Ollieh17 Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Realy nice mate! Love a 6. My mate has had alot of work done with indigo gt on hos evo 8 and rates them highly Quote
Calum122 Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Very nice mate I love those RX7's, will get one one day, just out of interest, what did it say on the log book about its displacement. My mate said to me that due to their power figures they're down as a 2.7 despite being a 1.3 Quote
seab Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 Other way around bud, mine was down as 1.3 Quote
BJShipley Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Love evos and probably going to be my next car. But will be keeping the glanza for a while to come unless I can arrange some sort of deal for a decent one. I've always preferred 4/5's to the rest and will probably be one of those. Will look forward to seeing more mate! Anymore plans as to yet? Bret. Quote
ReeceGolliker Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Looks nice and clean! I'm sure you're glad to get back into an evo! Quote
Calum122 Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Well they're two 660cc engines, so why would they be 2.7 Litres. Anyway thanks for clarifying. He currently has an Evo 5 It's nice, but I think I prefer yours Looking very swish! Quote

I think its just insurance companies that clas them as 2.7 for some starnge reason. :S Evo look the balls mate! Was cosidering getting one before i bought the glanza. paulgtt Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Looks great in white.I had a 6 before I got my 4, quite a few of us seem to be on the mlr lol! Quote
WallaceGlanza Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Always liked the VI's, look good in white too. Looks great in white.I had a 6 before I got my 4, quite a few of us seem to be on the mlr lol! Natural progression! Quote

Technically that's correct the cc does total to a 1.3 but its the power output that they produce is why insurance companies rate them to 2.6 Nice evo love the 6's best colour too Quote
paulgtt Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Always liked the VI's, look good in white too. Natural progression! Yep but to be fair my 4 decimates my old 6 ;) Quote
akaye4000 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Sweet looking motor but 5s are best in white;) Quote

Was cosidering getting one before i bought the glanza. There's a valid reason that insurance companies class them as a 2.7, they can't be measured in the same manner as a piston motor. This chap explains it better than me; http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/dispelling-the-rotary-displacement-myth/43487/page1/That evos tidy as. Very much like. Quote
Calum122 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Sorry I didn't mean to steal the thread on RX7 insurance but I still think that's utter bollox seeing as there are plenty other engines that put out more power per displacement than a fourstroke yet equate to the same insurance class! Quote
