RoryWebb432 Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 Black bonnet goes well with the wheels and bump strips! looking for good anyway mateThanks mate. I'm not sure if the bump strips will stay yet. The bonnet will be replaced though and will be red Quote
Rich-k Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 If your doing glanza rep id remove the strips personally looks so weird with them on Quote
RoryWebb432 Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 No real progress from the weekend apart from a polish. It was real hard work as the paint is fading. It could really do with a clay bar and full mop. I'll look into it when I can afford it so that I can get the bodywork to a decent standard and then keep on top of it. I had an issue with the sunroof leaking so while it was raining I put loads of vaseline in to seal it as my seats were getting wet. A temp fix until I can get the seal replaced. Ordering skirts and a toffee wheel over the weekend so that I can get those bump strips off and have it looking better with skirts. Here's some pics... Quote
RoryWebb432 Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 I've decided I'm going back to amber front indicators too so I'm going to spray the inners black and get them on over the weekend. Quote

RoryWebb432 Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 I really do like the amber indicators. I'm going to paint the inners and try them with both lenses and see how I feel. But amber is my favourite at the moment. Quote

Calum122 Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Genuinely didn't think it looked too bad. It's an S at the end of the day. I prefer to keep it stockish as not to fool anyone, including yourself. Maybe you're just agood photographer haha! The updates definitely improve it, no shadow of a doubt Quote
RoryWebb432 Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 So ive been quiet on here for a while due to work and my wife being mega pregnant. I got a couple hours free this afternoon to do some much needed work on the car. So here's the update... I decided to customise my centre console the other week when fitting my SR dials. The dials went in fine after a bit of swearing. The fuel guage didnt work at first but then it just need adjusting as it started to fall after about 250 miles. So whilst it was all out i decided to spray both the dial face and dial surround red and the same with my stereo surround. Sprayed the ashtray black and painted the cigarette lighter dial red So back to today's updates. I bought the strongest glue i could find to fit the side skirts, they were so much easier to fit than i thought theyd be. So i glued them in place due to not having the clips, then i taped them in place using electrical tape. After that i got underneith and drilled some holes in the sills to screw the bottoms in place. I'll be astonished if they come off. The toffee wheel i ordered came in the post as i was fitting the skirts so i thought fuck it and took the plastic trim off and removed the glue. The toffee wheel made it so much easier but it still took a lot longer than i thought even with my power drill. The passenger side was the last skirt i fitted too so the pictures of the passenger side has plenty of tape on still. The car had a quick wash and is in need of claybar and polish but overall im happy with the look... I bought some import plates too as i hated the GB plates that a previous owner put on. I also bought a Starlet Reflet MOT failure for £90 a week or so ago to break but ive nicked the rear lights. I think they look great... Please excuse the ass end of the car, i've got everything needed to turn the na bootlid into a Glanza rep bootlid but i just dont have the time at the moment to prep and spray it. The bumper is in a bad way too and needs sorting. I'm really hoping to find red glanza parts... I fell out of love with the car for a little bit but after the recent progress ive found a new bit of motivation to get this little bitch finished. Quote
JDMfreak Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 keep at it Rory looking like a great little car looking forward to seeing it finished Quote
