Craigtrials95
Well thought i better start a build thread since some big plans have come along for my glanza v. I bought her just over a year ago and well a bit of work was needed, however it was a clean shell, here she is. Went a wee blast with a mate and grabbed a few photos So the car was in need of a new turbo so i treated her to a speedvision phase 2 ct9 hybrid, with a clean up along the way, and i stupidly bought a shity toyosports manifold along with cheap gaskets and well i learnt the hard way after cracking the mani in a week, So I invested in a zisco ramhorn manifold and heatwrapped it, Heres the finally result after a slight tidy up and new turbo and mani,Delighted with the result. So the following weekend i decided to make use of the rare sunshine in Scotland and head out west for a blast, was excellent fun out on the back roads of Scotland in this thing with a mate heres a few snaps, I came across a photo from her on the dyno getting a reasonable 208bhp at 1.3 bar on the hybrid ct9 The car was running perfect up until January 2015, when i got a knock sensor fault so replaced that with a new one from td all was fine until i drove about 100m to the end of my street and it conked out, started again and sparked out the interior fuse box and conked out once again and she hasn't run since. I tried numerous things including a new ecu and engine bay wiring loom but nothing worked. So I decided i wanted to strip the glanza apart clean everything up and buy lots of new goodies whilst tidying everything up, so i bought a fiesta st as a daily for now. Started by taking off all the calipers, wishbones, suspension and a few things out of the engine bay to get the engine out easier. It ended up like this, So i de-greased all the wing area in the bay and started sanding it down ready for a coat of primer, used gunk to de-grease and i would recommend 100%Just redoing it in gloss black to make it look a bit cleaner when its all back together.Ive seen some people re-locate the braking unit in the engine bay, but where do they put it? cheers Edited July 20, 2015 by Craigtrials95
GlanzaJ
Looks good mate , have got a soft spot for a red glanza ! is it forged or standard internals , didn't think 1.3 bar was a good idea on stock pistons and rods ?
Craigtrials95
was the previous owner that had it mapped at 1.3 bar on high boost and im pretty sure it went bang on the dyno first time round then mapped again at 1.3 all fine but i never ran it at 1.3 always boosted at 0.7 bar. still standard internals but hopefully be changing that over winter or next year. Still need to keep updating this still not up to date yet, cheers mate
