dangeestarlet
If all goes well should have a auto Glanza tommorow and will want to convert it to manual, I have a n/a manual as a daily so will be taking box and parts off there , what is needed and how long does it take , any help would be great as I have searched and couldn't get a definitive answer and something about bridging to start? JDMfreak
Yeah something to do with break pedal I did here about that before when converting from auto to manual think its something to do with ecu pins Basically got all the manual stuff gearbox cables slave cylinder on bulk head and gear box You will need to drain the bottom of rad as the auto box uses the rad to cool the auto fluid AFAIK
lukEp
You need to drill the bulk head to be able to fit the clutch master cylinder. Gear change cables and shifter, Flywheel (turbo has bigger clutch fitted so is different to the N/A)All the manual Bellhousing bolts, slave cylinder and line, manual brake pedal and clutch pedal, you'll need to modify the ignition barrel so you can take the key out and you'll need to bridge out the two big pins in the plug that was plugged into the auto gearbox so it starts when you turn the key. You also may want to change the clocks and ECU but not a necessity. If you change the ECU to a manual one be aware that the 4 pin TB will loose a 5v feed from the ecu as the manuals only have 3 pin TB's, it will still work run and drive but it hinders performance when upping the boost. The rear gearbox mount is also slightly bigger, again will fit and work but if you want to poly bush the engine mounts get the auto one or change out the rear gearbox mount to manual. Whitenoize
Autos are actually fun dude I've just got one after having 8 manuals over the years it's pretty cool for a daily if your going for big power convert it if its just to cut about in as a daily driver give the auto a try
Whitenoize
As you can see from above it quite a big job to convert better off just to buy a manual autos are good value if you plan on keeping them auto but by the time you convert one you could have bought a decent manual
dangeestarlet
If I have it today I will see how it goes being an auto , don't autos drink the fuel? Any difference in quickness from a manual to Glanza
Whitenoize
Mine is fine on fuel I've a ct12 front mount exhaust etc quick little car and the gearbox is smooth give it a try see what you think but by the time you convert one you could prob have bought a manual

Hdot
Does anyone have more info on exactly which two wires need bridging and how to modify the ignition barrel? I've got all the other parts and am half way through my conversion. Thanks
lukEp
The only two big pins in the engine bay auto box connection. I just centre punched the metal around the sliding lock to secure it in place. Edited September 27, 2015 by lukEp
Hdot
Alright lukEp il have a look when I'm next up the garage, did u keep the auto ecu with yours? I'm still unsure if I should get a manual ecu I'm also running an emanage piggyback currently so......
lukEp
Auto has a different TPS so keep the AT ECU. If you put the MT Ecu on you will have a 5v missing off the TBS.
Hdot
Il be keeping the auto ecu then, just checked the connectors and that's all good so thanks for that info mate. When you swapped the fly wheels over is the spacer needed behind the manual one or do you do away with that ?
JDMfreak
use a turbo spacer not the automatic one
Hdot
Oh right cheers mate, il find someone breaking to pick one up
