Getting more BHP

hey i need help getting more bhp out of my auto ep91 glanza.

but i do not want to add air filters and all that i want the engine to be as standard as poss any information?

or if so whats the best way to go because a 2 liter renault clio beat me the other night and was not happy :angry:

Hi mate,

To get more BHP your gonna need to modify your engine in someway. You could get it mapped but if you have not had any performance parts on it i think it would be pointless (Don't take my word for it though).

You could do small things like a less restrictive mani, decat, freeflowing throttle body, and a less restrictive flat panel filter.

Someone with more knowledge may tell you more but i can't see there being much more.

If you don't want to touch the engine then the next thing I'd suggest is getting rid of some weight.

major exterior parts:

carbon fibre hood

get rid of any unnecessary body parts (such as the spoiler)

lightweight alloy wheels

internal stripout:

seats

carpets

door panels

spare wheel & tools

the list goes on...

you wont actually get anymore BHP but you will benefit in both performance and economy with the reduced weight

although I do think you should consider getting a manual gearbox

get a jam manifold, a blitz decat, a K&N panel filter, and a HKS Silent power exhaust, then get a decent bost controller.

then get a unichip or something.

looking at the engine you wont be able to tell youve touched it.

and the exhaust will be pretty subtle aswell.

tuned, that will be 160 ish HP. strip out some weight and itll be fairly nippy.
