chrishucker Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I was just wondering if anyone has got rid of the distributor for a coil set up? Quote
TurboTobz Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 (edited) Lots have done it, socks did, rob h, glanzagee (wasted spark from memory), among a fair few others. Edited December 22, 2015 by TurboTobz Quote

TurboTobz Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Check ep91 buil section I'd look myself but I'm just about to run out of battery Quote
glanzagee Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 4 coils used with built in ingnitors with custom trigger wheels and sensors running full seq fueling and spark Quote
TurboTobz Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Such a unique build, and some mean engineering Quote
chrishucker Posted December 24, 2015 Author Posted December 24, 2015 That look amazing! Not using an Omex ecu by any chance? Or used one before? Quote
morgan Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Looks great that, untreated in what parts you used ect would love to get rid of the dizzy Quote
Stu Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 You can use the trigger wheels inside the dizzy but get rid of the cap/rotor etc and make a blanking plate if you wanted - have done this multiple times with aftermarket ecus and sequential or wasted spark coil setups. Quote
Chief Quimby Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Wasted spark is not good, if you run high boost, an spec cams Quote
Stu Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Have run wasted spark with high boost on many setups, but you are right about running it with big overlap cams. The second "wasted" pulse can cause a few issues. Quote
ankers Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 What the best coilpacks to use k20 type r ones? And what will this setup work with just standalone or emu? And what price you looking at to get this all wired in? Quote
Stu Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I have seen people use the K20 coils but I tend to use the 2zzge units. Coil on plug won't work with the stock ecu, your best bet is stand alone. Quote
Calum122 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Have to look into this when I build my engine! Looks great! Just really brings the car up to a more modern standard. That top photo just looks the tits with the amount of work done to it! Quote
