Licari3 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I was wondering if you can make your car faster by fiddling with your fuel pump to increase the output of the fuel to the engine, is this possible without any other engine adjustments? Also while you're here i would appreciate it if you could like and share my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/carstrend/ Quote
5e colin Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 you wlill have to fit a rising rate fuel pressure regulator and a 255l pump are you na or turbo whats your plan/spec Quote
Licari3 Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 i haven't got a car atm but i was just wondering, and what would be the difference between turbo and na regarding to the increased fuel pump output? Quote
5e colin Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 just increasing fuel has no benefit only negative unless you start modifying kid turbo or na Quote
Licari3 Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 so what additional mods would you recommend along with the increased fuel to make my car faster ? for both cases turbo and na considering i havent bought my car yet Quote

AdamB Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Google the "4 stroke engine cycle". You can't just chuck fuel in, if that's the case don't you think you'd have cylinders filled with just fuel? Quote
Licari3 Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 thats my point ^ what additional mods would i have to do Quote
daniel_g Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Why do you want to put loads of fuel in? Quote

5T4R7ET N/A Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Really the injectors determin how much fuel will actually go into the cylinder, but just adding fuel does not mean more power.Do some research and you will soon understand Quote
StuDoc 72 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I think someone has been spending too much time down the local Halfords car park with the cruise meets i suspect thats where this info came from lol. Quote

Licari3 Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 i knew that it sounded stupid, and i know perfectly well how a car engine works the thing is i hear this alot and i just wanted to be sure that it doesn't make any difference but from some of you who know more about cars and are more experienced Quote
AdamB Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 The ideal air to fuel ratio for max power is approx 10% richer than Stoichiometric, which equates to 13.2 : 1 ish for hydrocarbon fuels. The more air you get into the engine, the more fuel can be added, and therefore the more power can be made. Simples Quote
