Flynn
Fitted a catch can and race spec rocker a while back on the v and rather than collect oil (is some in there) it seems to just spray it out of the breather on the side and into my bay anyway? Think valve stems are gone as I've got oil from blow off valve and had a small boost leak on the back of my gauge in the car and it filled the car with the smell of burnt oil. Any ideas greatly appreciated

Flynn
Not the best picture.......breathers on the side facing the firewall, I've got a small k&n filter on there at the moment. Edited February 9, 2016 by Flynn
5e colin
to be anywhere near good it should have 2 or 1 big breather the can is probly not baffled
Flynn
It's an RJ catch can but one of the early ones.only has the one breather, would that cause the issues I'm getting Colin?
StuDoc 72
Is there a breather on the tank I cant see it? If there isnt a good breather then it wont work at all. Pressure will always escape through the easiest possible route.
Whitenoize
Rw development cans are definitely baffled I've had a few on different cars never had any problems regarding the actual can
5e colin
an extra breather coulld probly cure your isseu , as now al the flow is being forced to your 1 small vent hole so airflow will be fast in there being sucked/forced out if there was more venting the oil will have time to drop before it reaches the holes as the flow will be les thats just my 2c flyn
Flynn
That makes sense to me Colin cheers. Do you think a bigger filter maybe? The filters hidden in both pics stu, it faces towards the fire wall but has been pissing oil out only noticed as I had to pull some cable in that area
akyakapotter
Mine done that binned off the filter altogether been fine ever since
Flynn
Really? So no filter at all? Does urs have the single breather too mate?
5e colin
yes bigger filter hole or 2nd filter my old can used to be 2 from rocker to the tank and 2 from the tank going to the intake between filter and turbo and NOT connected them 2 together as i see often happening
ROTABOOST
I have the same can and I have a hose straight off the breather fitting and its routed to come out just behind the subframe, no filter. I've never had an issue and I'm running 1.8bar of boost
