  1. yeah its a nice setup , ahh trying to remember his name now! only other starlet i saw was a white mk2 but they didnt hang around I dont think
  2. the black/grey GT limited mk2? that was another guy Id met there before, forgot his name hes not on the forum though. my car is at home in my garage awaiting repair lol
  3. errr kinda, I live about 25 miles from there but go there every so often which Ryan sorry?
  4. anyone from either of these cars? the glanza was parked up in the cafe carpark when I turned up, see the GT drive up and down a few times
  5. yeah I know should see the little home I made for her in my garage, going to be warm and safe over winter while I work on her
  6. hha the way of the starlet!! mine became such a money pit that its currently off the road and Im using an old faithful mk2 golf as my daily for work as the EP is just too unreliable now, still love it though ;) will be driving it again soon!
  7. well would you rather have a dodgy fpr and wideband that give inaccurate results ending with your engine going bang?
  8. I have the Silent Hi power too, the middle box was already cut out when I bought the car, compared the noise to my friend who has the same exhaust with the middle box and mine sounds a million times nicer (not being big headed lol) but yeah, say goodbye to the middle box itll solve it!!
  9. whatever you do dont buy one of the £30 sard's with all the fittings, gauge etc, theyre all fake, Mikey recommended the £85 sard, its 100% genuine as you can tell by a few cosmetic signs, aswell as peeling off the sticker as the genuine one leaves half the sticker behind saying "void". same goes with the wideband, was recommended the mtx-l and its a real good buy, accurate, and for £150 youre laughing really!
  10. I might buy it just for all the panels as spare, but moneys tight at the moment
  11. dont think so mate! I'll PM you his number
  12. put it this way the pistons are £480 new, rods are around £400 new, would say its definitely a bargain
  13. yeah definitely 9s lol not exactly a bad thing, just depends on the setup i guess
  14. these look like my pistons that are 9:1 comp ratio, are they flat top pistons? just a heads up to anyone who thinks theyre normal compression which is 8.2:1, take that into consideration
  15. yeah thats fair enough, the back does sit ever so slightly higher than the front, I run the same size tyres too
  16. Im looking into coilovers pretty soon just for handling purposes, i guess it depends on the type of ride you want! Ive been running on kyb shocks on 40mm lowering springs and the ride is pretty comfy, car isn't slammed but its pretty low, and handles surprisingly well (no doubt itll handle better with coily's) but if you just want a cheap way of lowering it then Id say go for shocks/springs, I sold a set on here not long ago for £70!
  17. im not coming anymore due to my car letting me down again lol
  18. my mate who builds engines privately for a few people reckons that shouldnt ever happen? once its stripped Im gunna send the block off or find somewhere local to have it properly flushed out
  19. cheers everyone, when i have some time when Im not at work ill rip the engine out and do a full rebuild, (hoping it is just big end shells) when i did my first oil change the magnetic sump plug was pretty furry with specs of metal, maybe the big ends got scored up from bits of metal?
  20. haha hopefully picking up a mk2 golf within the next hour so its all good
  21. knock travels through the engine dont forget, It sounds like a big end but I wont find out til i get it out, need to find a cheap run around the joys of owning an old jap car
  22. got the rocker off, all the cams are tight and looking healthy, cambelt was a little slack so re-tightened it but nothings changed, started it and sounded absolutely fucking awful
