i got 3 naff fte's, and a 5e in the bay at the moment for mockup. hope to get that in the machine shop over winter. i know its wrong time of year to be puttn it on the road but i miss it. lol

yeah, i got all the turbo stuff. basically its only the bottom end i will be swapping from what was in before. just to check the valves on number 3 and make sure there not bent. tho got plenty spare heads

rite, really missing my gt since it threw its guts out the side of the block so i have been reading up on the 4efe turbo conversion, and now an engine has come up locally at a good price. my plans were - 4efte head (newly rebuilt) 1.9mm metal head gasket (bought for 5e, but now changing to 1.4) stock 4efe bottom end holes drilled/tapped for the filter housing not sure if it has a knock sensor hole, will put 1 in if not fte sump/pickup externally gated td04L (its all i have, i think the gt2871r would mayb be too much, tho might try it for fun when the 5e is built lol) plus all the supporting mods to run this setup (fmic, emu, 255 pump, etc etc) i am going with this spec due to me having this already and not wanting to spend too much for a temp engine now, being a 84K engine and wanting it to last, i was thinking running 0.8 of boost but not sure what injectors to run, i have in the fte head 330's, or i still have the standard injectors, which ones to use? also, i was reading a post on tgtt about jays detonator V and kon had said to run a few degrees of retarted dizzy timing?? pick the engine up this sunday, hopefully get started on it soon

have you windscreen cover on your insurance? i got mine done for the gt on the insurance for £75. also got it in a blue tint, goes really well with the black cat (had the choice of clear/green or blue)

can just see black swirls in the intake, too course of sand paper was used. they havnt gone as far as where the turbo blades are tho. not the best of pics, but this is what im on with

i wouldnt touch a turbo, i would tackle everything else bar gearbox's and turbo's, its something thats a costly job to replace if it fucks up. not bothered liam, aslong as it works and dont chuck out oil. would it be easy enuf to swap it? it spins ok, but theres oil in the exhaust housing, also been using it as a dummy to build my manifold and its been lying around for a while. the inlet housing has also been messed with, someone has tryed smoothing the the intake (filter end) of the turbo, is there any chance of sorting this also? il try and get a pic of the turbo

looking for somewhere to get my tubby rebuilt, i have spoken to liam and he said he dont have the facilitys to rebuild them and a new cartridge was needed, but not looking to spend that much on a cartridge. anyone recommend anywhere else that could rebuild it? Cheers

think theres someone huntly way that rebuilds gearboxes. my mate was telling me but need to get more info off him. im needing my scynchros done aswell

That turbo looks brand new out of the factory!! Top work lads. i will be looking to get my gt2871r rebuilt in the near future, what sort of prices we talking for a rebuild? on visual inspection it looks good from the outside and the turbo spins freely, but would like it to be rebuilt to go with the nice rebuilt engine.
