what do you know about it? is it still in the car to be heard running or even test driven? i have been stung enuf to know not to go on sumbodys word about any engine. if it cant be heard running, either walk away or get the price down to double figures. if it is out then its hard to do compression test, tho if theres a battery close, something could be rigged to wurr the starter. if possible, see if the sump can be removed and whip a big end cap off. check for bearing wear and any scores on the crank. see how oily the engine looks.
