Pikey009 replied to glanzanut22's topic in EP70 & EP71 Progress Blogs
gorgeous car -
love this car mate fantastic fabrication! reminds me of taggy's.
-
brilliant work mate pleased to see one of these getting some tlc. What are future plans?
-
Yeh lol just in the nick of time!
-
We are both suckers for rare options ha ha
-
Guess you were right ha ha....
-
Yep the real deal! Had to save for two months for it and put off the wheel refurb but next month when the car goes for paint this is going on
-
Bought a Genuine TTE splitter from him today, he got a ferry to Southampton to meet me even though he's busy as hell. He also wrapped it for me even though it was just going in my car. Nice lad, pleasure.
-
It's very hard for an 18 year old car to servive normal daily use without any knocks though mate Plus you've got an awesome engine conversion
-
I totally agree and just prefer the NA bumper in general as I think the Glanza sits too low but it's a matter of opinion I guess. Not many people like the NA rears! Usually but not always, a glanza rear bumper leads to Glanza skirts which leads to a boot lid and finally a front end conversion. That's all fine obv but most people start off just wanting a rear bumper lol. Is that how it happened with your old car? Can't believe you're breaking it
-
May have blown the wheel refurb budget today when I went to pick my self up a present
-
Yours looks pretty stock Morgey- just an NA rear bumper
-
Yeh but I've got the other things that come with being 30 like waking up at 3 every meningitis for a piss and getting random achey body parts
-
Yep you'll probably hate me then as mines 240 for the year but I'm nearly 31 and got 13 years no claims
-
That's crazy! These insurance companies talk shit mate. For me to have a fabia vrs its £70 a year cheaper than the starlet and £50 cheaper on tax lol I don't get it.
-
Don't think it's been on the road for a while, strange that it's not a member on here. Don't think he realises there's a spelling mistake in the add so it doesn't come up when you search for a starlet. I'd buy it if I didn't have one
-
Yeh I was thinking they look pretty good actually and we need some way of telling the difference between our cars lol maybe my genuine tte front lip will help... Oops! Yeh I really want to but as its my wife's bday I've got no chance plus I want the car pretty much immaculate before I take it to a show so it should be by then

Not much info or pics but could be an awesome project http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyoya-Starlet-Glanza-Gt-Turbo-/291742440394?nav=SEARCH

Ha ha you definalty feel gains but probs more like 1.5bhp! I think if you end up getting the car mapped it would actually see some decent gains over the stock set up. I'll be going emanage soon so everyone can see if they actually work or not.
-
And I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that the stock brakes are shite and so is a Glanza set up so you'll want either a levin twin pot set up like mine or someone like WMS do an awesome custom set up so you'll actually be able to stop without hitting a tree.
-
Hi mate welcome. Ask Morgey or one of the other moderators to move this to the owners progress section mate so that you can start a build thread. As mentioned for performance- drop a Glanza or gt turbo engine in- think the gt conversion is said to be easier as the wiring is easier. If it's big power you want then check out Socks build thread as he's just done a 1.8 2zzge conversion and bolted a turbo to it but that's mega money and a lot of custom work.

Looking loads better mate well done for saving it. Shame we can't have them side by side at japfest :/ should be able to mate japfest 2 though. The stickers look a lot better mate those others def wernt the right colour were they.
-
Mate they were significant updates! It's always the little things that take ages. Bet you can't wait to actually have it back on the road. Oh by the way, do you have the plastic adjuster cog for the 98 spec seats?
