  1. I swear these cars are the easiest things to work on I've ever come across. stripped the rear drums to replace the shoes and inspect/ re pack the bearings- took an hour tops and the handbrake adjustment was a piece of piss too, I've now got one that works again
  2. Does look better- amazing what a good set of plates does- same when I changed mine. I meant gumtree lol sorry
  3. Good plan. Ha maybe I'm a bit anal with how clean the car is but if I'm going to show it it had to be as close to perfect as possible. Yeh there have been far too many scrapped- there's a rough white one on eBay which is dying to be saved, I'd love to make a track car out of it and clean the body up a bit
  4. ive got nowhere to store it as the garage is a gym/workshop. I'd want to keep it on the road really anyway and not sat there. Plus my lass would never have three cars ha ha but yeh ideally I'd have a fabia vrs daily and use the starlet when the sun is out I bet it's nice to own it that long Rob. You still thinking of selling?
  5. Are you going to a place youve used before? I think I'm going to get my bumpers done soon too. If I'm able to keep it it won't be going to a show until the paint is mint and the wheels are refurbed as its not worthy at the min. Yours will be perfect soon I've always moaned about people badly modifying SR's in the past but I've kind of got over that now and each to their own. it's kind of nice having one of few that still looks like it came from Toyota.
  6. Oh and I think a few of us on here are equal SR fans lol ;)
  7. The splitter and wind deflectors can be removed easily enough- it's that rear arch that would bother me but might not be that bad in the flesh and the rest of the car looks pretty decent no mention of scuffs on the bumpers like mine and yours. Mind you I'd rather have that than an issue on the main body as bumpers are an easy fix. I'm trying to keep her mate- all depends on my promotion in June as I might have to change where I work. I don't want to put loads of miles on her if I need to commute each day as I bike to work at the min and drive the SR purely for enjoyment.
  8. Blimey that's quite a lot. If it was totally mint it might be worth 2500 at a push to the right person. Lol what would happen if I put mine up for 3k I'd get burnt at the stake!
  9. How much was it up for originally? To be honest Dale, yours would've fetched more but the guy selling didn't do it justice on the advert so people didn't up the bids- was a 2k car all day long. Not sure about the dent in the rear quarter on this though :/ think it could be a tricky fix
  10. Judging by the one on eBay- you got a bargain. 36k £2500 although from the pics it looks nearly mint although that rear arch thing would have to be looked at
  11. I was serious but my wife was initially keen and then changed her mind as per usual. Would love a custom exhaust manifold from them but don't think i could afford one! Are they only on FB?
  12. Lol think I was the first guy to contact him but I just couldn't convince my lass :/ still want it tbh
  13. Not too bad is it but nowhere near as tidy or nice as yours. If you're was a manual I think it would've sold right away
  14. Wow mate that's amazing, must be so exciting being so close to driving it on the road again
  15. I've got a pair of brand new Eibach camber bolts for sale. Last Friday I went to my local kwik fit for a laser alignment after fitting a pair of camber bolts and they were fantastic. It's luck of the draw to be honest on how decent a place like that is. The lad said most places just go off the standard specs they get given from the system and it normally depends on the boss if they're allowed to do custom adjustments.
  16. Hmm, I need to find somewhere near andover
  17. Hmm, I've been over paying :/ he does do a great job tho. Thanks mate that's the aim of the whole car I guess, keep it looking original and hide all the naughty bits
  18. Turtle wax is pretty decent. I think that's pretty cheap for powder coating! My normal refurb guy charges £50 a wheel and that's just paint! Ah you must be lucky then, mine comes ok pretty nice but I want it to be immaculate. I had the chance to buy a tte back box last week but then just thought it was a waste of money as mine is pretty much the real thing and will last for ages
  19. That's not bad at all. 2ZZ-GE is the dream but i think there's a lot of work involved. Got a quote from Woodsport to do one as their work seems really good but got quoted 6k!
  20. Also, what did you clean the tail pipe with as Autosol just won't get mine how i want it
  21. v v nice buddy. Morgey's mate does some really good reproduction decals mate i just sold my spare set as they were full ones and didnt have the cut out for the bump strip. are you going to get the wheels done? need mine doing but it's an expensive job. Google street view is funny i might check a few of my old addresses as each one had amodified toyota at it at some point.
