Id say mid to low 15's, really depends on the launch etc ;) -
I've found its usually the sliders that seize, so a quick clean up of them and a regrease usually works. Problem is if the gaitor has split and let all the dirt and water in the chances are the slider has started to rust or corrode, so it will keep coming back!! The other problem is the handbrake cable seizing.

Very common problem, seal kit fom id works or camskills about £56 for the pair, usually a case of remove the sliders giv them an clean up with scotch pad grease up and re-assemble but if youve got the time a full strip down would be better. I've done this^^^ basic regrease 3 years running now, just brought 2 sets of calipers and a rebuild kit so going to make a nearly new set from them lol

I think theres a set of water pipe on the throttle body, its quite a common thing to get these mixed up with the vacuum lines that are right near them? Might be worth checking them first

Hahahahaha man up you girl You prob want some slider grips to loosly grip the pipes to twist the pipes to break the seal, but not to tight as you could bend, crush or maybe break the pipes into the matrix. If youve got some maybe try some penetrating oil under the pipes if you can get to it, leave it for a lil while and it might work into the scum and loosen up the pipes a bit

Any reason you cant?

Has anyone ever done an engine lift on a starlet?
morgey replied to dan106's topic in Lifestyle General
thats not going to be easy, drivers side will but the other 2 will be a pain! -
£5500 + shipping etc
-
I wouldnt bother with it, i you are that fussed put a new heavy duty cable from battery to chassis, from the same point on the chassis to the engine and that will be plenty ino I've relocated my battery and all i did was earth from my rear strut tower to the battery and run a small earth along the drivers side from the engine and earth it at all the earthing points along the way just to help create a constant earth directly from the engine. Been like it 4 years and it works fine with out all the messy earthing kit wires

On the saturday i imagine, if its unlimited. but depends on how busy it is, if youve never done it it is, get a time see if u can better yourself but if its queued up out past the entry to the strip you wont get many runs in
