  1. Lovely car, would love one! Not a huge fan of the wheels (bit small maybe :s) but i suppose they are in time with the car Keep us up to date with it
  2. Ha i know this car! Toads old motor, was a good car before he sold it, then it got abused! Glad to see you're fixing it up he'll be glad to hear its finally gone to a good home
  3. I suppose i they wanted to, theres nothing stopping them now? These guys have done it to a normal road car so whats stopping you from removing the head from the likes of an evo and making a retro fit camless head. The only thing you would need is oil pump drive if its belt driven and a crank angle sensor for timing and ignition etc The valves would need a separate cpu but nothing mental And how would you get vtec with no cams? Lol Or are you saying? "vtec pffft, i rev to 20k bitch!!!" :Pb
  4. The hollow tube thing doesn't matter a jot, a strut brace under goes compression and extension. You try and compress a hollow tube, its not going to happen. The bolted ends i can understand but if its got l big enough bolts that can be done up tight enough and sturdy mounts It will be fine. Ie the Trd brace. I would say you'd get more flex from the thin folded sheet metal at either end of the Oem brace than some of the other ones with the triangle shaped mounting points. After all triangle are one of the strongest shapes going
  5. Yeah cant beat good old mechanical cars, might not be as efficient or what ever but simple for people like us to work on and a much more connected feel imo!
  6. Haha im feeling the same dude! I dont like the sound of electric driven cams, well i would never use it in an interference engine anyway!! Crazy this modern technology hey!
  7. They still have cams, probably contolled like the fiat multiair system, just had a quick read and they have a timing chain. But yeah size of an A4 peice of paper! Pretty impressive little engines it would appear
  8. Hmmm, do i need another one? Lol where u located?
  9. I saw this a few weeks ago, think the likes of f1 ha been using something like this for a while to get the revs that they do but, 30% more effecient, power and torque with less weight. Can make as much power and torque in a 3cylinder 1.5 as a camshaft driven 4cyliner 2.0 And no its nothing like a rotary as they use ports not valves ;)
  10. I've got a rebuilt kit with these, so im going to make a good pair first, then with the ones on my car and the left overs from these ill try make another good set! ;)
  11. My mate got around to shot blasting all my spare calipers today so now have all of these to make an good set from!
  12. Not quite the standard of some of these^^ but, One of a couple of mates, alvis in the n/a k24 civic. It took the uk fwd N/A record on its first outing lol its now been brought by a tuning shop and is painted blue with a fiberglass front end! Jaffa in the nsx getting owned haha http://youtu.be/lYEIclCKN6w
  13. Make it more aerodynamic, lighter and thinner tyres ;) You dont need power to go faster although it does help
  14. Mine did this stock, and on a flat did about 115mph, but take into speedo error that would make it about 107-8mph which is pretty much book speed
  15. Tbh i dont think its too much to worry about, its only 6200rpm. the limiter is there to prevent any over revving. If you decide to Keep revving it hard keep it serviced more often. Oh and dont be a tool and hold it on the limiter in car parks lol The early 4efe's used to rev to 7k so the engine can probably handle revving more than what yours does
  16. The speed you do in each gear will never change unless you change your rev limit or the ratio's in the gearbox. Only the way it pulls to the limiter in each gear is effected by breathing mods Approximately on the speedo you will get on the limiter of 6250rpm 2nd = 57 3rd = 84 4th = 110 just under iirc 5th = 125-30 if you could reach it (not enough power standard) You also have to bare in mind your speedo is inaccurate and wheel size will affect how far out the speedo is. 100mph in mine is more like 94mph satnav speed
  17. Gotta love black V's Jag had a mint one as well His for sale thread if you want to see it. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/56929-jags-black-98-hybrid-glanza-v-l3500/?fromsearch=1
  18. More expensive but they have them in stock http://www.fensport.co.uk/Parts/Model_40/Category_2/3438
  19. You want a set like this Rather than the normal ones like this, i presume?
  20. Id like to see this with a 20v, mine has some get up and go, cant imagine it minus 200kgs! Lol
  21. Depends on colour, mines black and i think clear looks odd so I've just swapped mine out for an amber set. Silver i think suits clear but i surpose its personal preference tbh
  22. Yeah that should be fine, well thats wha i use and I've had to do mine 3 years running Haha well when you take them apart you will. They're basically a bit of hollow tube with a groove at either end! Lol
  23. Yea usually the case, you will want to clean the area in the caliper thoroughly as well a these rust up also! Then give it a good covering of some high temp grease lol
  24. Please do! People like this deserve all the shit they can get
