-
so went to a dyno today, clive attowe in norwich with a 1500hp dastek dyno. was expecting mid 150's as they recon these engines never make stock power :/ so i was a lil pesimistic but did it anyway. 1st power run made 168fly http://youtu.be/cjhcV21u3Zw the 2nd made 167.4 and 121.4 lb ft or 121whp http://youtu.be/B1hmDie16LI so i was pleasantly pleased with my lil beast incase no1 knows its a 1600 20v 4age n/a

best tip i can say is take your time, lots of thin layers of paint with ample time to dry inbetween, i learnt the hard way and had to sand it back after i rushed the final layer of paint as i got impatient. also dont apply laquer when the wheels are very cold (shouldnt be to much trouble in this temperature) but i did mine outside in feburary and it now looks like my wheels are made of china!! lol
-
Yeah I would like to find the one that was registered in 2008 see if it had been kept dry stored or something, its probably mint with f.a miles on it!!
-
Lol my bad for not mentioning the site cheers raz! Id like to know if the Japanese have a similar database then maybr you gt and v boys and girls could find out a bit..
-
Just been on this site that they mentioned on topgear on sunday to see how many sr"s their are left Turns out their was just over 750 registered in total the latest getting registered in 2008 and their is now 456 on the road and 38 sorn! Random bit of info for us SR owners P.s sorry if this is a repost

mines been a c*nt since the day i brought it over 4 years ago, its spent more time sorn than taxed yet has cost me more in the last 6 months than buying taxing and insuring repairing and mot'ing my second car for the last 2 years, and its still playing up!!!!!!!

Cheers guys well happy with the bay looks like its ment to be the IMO, and yes its awsome fun watching the rev counter nearly break the needle everytime it hits the stop at the end always puts a smile on my face lol
-
alrite guys as i said some pics of the engine bay in its completeness, sorry still no vids as i havnt fiited the oil fitting yet, been busy being drunk and hanging alot haha It will be getting velocity stacks and socks eventually but im focusing on getting it running well in as close to standard form as possible so that i when i do mod it more i can rule out any problems that may occur. so anyway 20v in running form Probably should remove the gti16 badge as its a bit of a lie now lmao... and this is the clearance behind the intake plenum, basically not much. i think when under load it has actually still pulled back and hit my clutch line which is about 10-15mm away and this is with a polybush rear mount, so i may be investing in some ae92 polymounts for the cam and gearbox mounts :s i will get some videos eventually guys but its not quite running 100% and i have a poo poo camera
-
not much of a turbo geek but if its a vaccum line going inside the car surely it would be for a boost gauge or something like that?? try blocking it off and running it?? cant see what else inside the car would need any form of vaccum line other than a standalone like a megasquirt or something similar!! probably miles off but my 2pence lol
-
I've only just noticed their isnt any pictures of the finished engine bay..... MY BAD i will get some 1st thing when it is reassembled tomorrow with the new oil fitting!!
-
sorry guys no videos my phone camera's crap and been having some tempramental misfire issues that i have been struggling with majorly and i snapped off a oil fitting in the block yesterday but do now have it out but need a new tee peice fitting for it. have now got the car lowered as much as i can on the rear and slightly lower on the front but they have another 10mm + to go :s and its on a set of white speedlines and did the writing in orange on one and now regretting not doing it on the rest of them!! i now need some hubcentric spacers for the rear because of the gt rear beam! and I am now thinking its now too low to have a cusco lower front strut but may put it back on at some point lol but between the misfiring i have been having some fun with her, 2.2 astra coupe whilst carrying 4 spare wheels and a passenger (you really can notice even a small passenger in this thing!) and a fiesta st500 from 30mph like it was a 1.2 haha and its a tiny bit quicker than my mates honda cb1 400 these where off of roundabouts so mainly 2nd 3rd gear pulls only problem is its still got the japanese limiter and i havnt even made use of 5th gear yet not that you need it anyway. anyway here are a couple of pics of her all cleaned up and settled I will get some videos of the performance, sound etc up but im trying to get all the small problems sorted before hand and as for the seat like i said its a toM seat its missing the "S" from the tom's but meh i dunno lol
-
haha thats cool, I've seen two cars in norwich with the number either side of mine both toyotas, and the other week i saw a micra identical to my 1st car that was the next digit to that aswel! go to show how small norfolk is and how little people get out haha
-
they could of been from a impreza i have a set of speedline safari's but in 5 stud, and toyota wheels wont fit a civic the centre bore on them is too large, tried it on a mates one
-
alrite mate i have these fitted in my starlet realy nice and comfy, and great for holding ya in, to fit mine me and a mate just used the seat rails on them, drilled out the spot welds and knocked all four brackets loose so you could move them about. we had to bend the inner rear mount to bolt up vertically and we had to stretch almost all the holes. once they were in the right place we tacked the brackets back took them out and gave them more welds to make them nice and ridged again this is all well and good but if you are tall then the seats dont go far enough back and if you pull them forward to let people in the back it rips the carpet next to the centre console. hope this helps

Bumpy Or is someone planning on doing it this weekend?? Would be a masive favour, and mesn I can possibly order a new o2 sensor and get the 20v running properly!! :-D Cheers again
-
sounds a bit like my 20v 4age lol and he wasnt reving that hard enough should have been well past 8k lol

who is currently using ITB`s on aN/A ???
morgey replied to the quiet achiever's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
just a small one, i have a 4age 20v (run itb's stock) and i found out the other day whilst trolling the net that the feed to the map sensor has a small pressure equaliser to dampen any irregular flucuations in the vaccum, it looks like a small inline fuel filter or a large one way valve. i guess thats what the vaccum manifold should do but i would of thought that the 4age runs one of them anyway?? -
What are all the mods you can fit to the ep91 n/a for better handling
morgey replied to raffa_mk's topic in Lifestyle General
yeah u seem to have it all sorted, biggest difference for the price was deffo the ALK, i had that fitted and some t1r's and it was a completely diff car obv was a tad lowered being a sr but nothing special. oh and brakes I've tried greenstuff on 3g disc and they worked realy well but I've now gone for ebc disc with yellowstuff pads and im really happy with them (wud have liked a mintex setup but money lol) now got some bc's but they really need setting up properly i can honestly say i could drive it faster on a nearly stock setup :S -
as above im not sure if its posible to do this on a starlet or not but if it is can someone do this for me pleeeeeeaaaaasseeeeee?? the reason being is i have a 4age blacktop in my ep now but i had to use my starlet o2 as the fitting on the exhaust is different to a levin one now if the starlet one gives the same reading ill buy a new starlet one if not then ill bite the bullet and buy a levin sensor and have the exhaust modded. anyway here is a walkthru of how to do it i borrowed off a website who borrowed it off of someone else lol obv this is for a bt 4age so things maybe in a different place etc ALSO can if someone has both an analog and digital mulitmeter can you check with both please on my digital one i was getting a constant .980v but this may have been cancelling out the fluctuations in current. How to check your O2 sensor Good dayâ?¦ This is a very simple step by step on how to check your O2 sensor whether it is in good working condition or need a change. If you have not get yours check, please read on. Here you go ~ 1) Turn off your engine 2) Locate your diagnostic connector, and look for terminal â??OX1″ and â??E1″ 3) Get an analog multi meter (any brand can do) 4) Select to 2.5Vdc range 5) Insert the red colour probe to â??OX1″, and black colour probe to â??E1″ 6) Place the multi meter on the windscreen, as near to the driver side as possible 7) Start your engine Wait till it reach working temperature 9) Keep your RPM at 2500 10) Observe you multi meterâ??s needle. It should be moving up and down, from 0 to 2/5 of full scale. 11) Time your watch, a good O2 sensor will move the needle up and down for at least 8 times in 10 sec. If your needle move less than 8 times per 10 sec, or idle at any scale, your O2 is dead. Change it asap to safe the world. Have a good time! haha cheers guys and it had a bit of history of ecu's haha the old 1st 16v smallport was using the stock, the 2nd bigport used the 1st's for a bit then used the stock for that this one will be using the stock auto 20v ecu, (just needs the park signal bridging then obv modding to suit the ep) i plan on getting either a Megasquirt v2.2 or v3 or maybe an emerrald ecu as he (dave walker) lives 1mile down the road lol

Ok so i havnt really made anymore progress yet, still helping a mate build a car trailer so we can use the garage. but heres a few more pics just to keep ya sweet oh just a quick 1, has anyone got a fuel filter bracket for a ep91???? so has anyone got any idea what a toM seat is lol, it came from a supra imported from jdm land?!?! anyway heres a few more with it in a slightly more complete bay. (baring inmind theirs two untucked wiring looms in their atm haha) 20v's and modded obx 16v manifold Yes that is 4 45mm throttles mmm bc's and glanza rims and brakes with ebc yellows with discs should be starting the wiring in the next week depending on the car trailer progress. will try and keep people abit more up to date.

cheers guys the rolla does get much love I've been considering a 2zzge 190 swap (corolla t-sport), got a fooked engine on offer for 150 quid but its my daily so dont want to fuck about with it.......... yet ;) Yeah thats it the levin/trueno, got it thru miguel at newera imports, he has a soft spot for toyotas gave me a good price and sent me some pics of his ae86..... all i can say is FUCK ME haha its sex on wheels lol powerwise stock is around 165hp so with only 18k on it that should be fairly accurate, + it was an auto so it cant have been ragged to much I've been speaking with a crazy america dude who has a k24 powered eg civic that should be running close to the 10s..... N/A he had one in an ae86 and he was saying with a ecu, exhaust and tb trumpets he made 180hp on an otherwise stock engine so the way things are going expect to see this down the strip this year (hoping for very low 15's but hopefully in the 14's) mabye some trackdays and at JAE woop woop!
