not usually about city, but some wednesday nights in thetford retail park (mcdonalds/currys) carpark theres usually a meet up of a few like minded people, mainly jap fans but some others come along aswel ;)

Tbh I only met him a handful of times and never saw hom driving it, but he did ramble on about the terrible fuel economy of it so id guess he did have a bit of a heavy foot. He seemed to have good intentions but they never really bloomed. But hey aslong as its still in a good mechanical state it should be fine ;) I doubt theres many n/a bits I need either, most parts on my car are now from a glanza but cheers anyway

I should state that the drums were before I converted to discs, but my corolla uses them and 3 years after buying it theyve never faulted
-
The last two mot's I've had my rear disc brakes have only just past on 16% or something silly, so far drums ftw never had any hassle with the other than the look and rust lol
-
indeed it is mate haha, only bits I have are 98spec rear seats, the door cards and thats about it, the rest of the stuff I have is from an n/a.

not much of an update just a few pics of the recaros and how far I've got with heat wrapping my manifold whilst i wait for the last few parts to arrive at toyota. i have officially desided heat wrapping is one of the biggest chores on the planet im only halfway through but found a couple of very small cracks that need welding up, so just gotta take it to a local exhaust place and have him run a small bead over them! before someone asks the random pipes between the different runners are equalisers designed to help midrange torque apparently lol theres 2 on the front and 2 on the back well heres the progress so far. the biggest problem is the runners are so close together in some places you cant get the wrap between them so you end up having to go back and forth and end up having a not so neat second runner as you can see! I've also left the bottom unfinished as im going to have to undo some to tie the other runs up underneath or something, havnt desided yet as i havnt got to it, but its going to be fun! lol and the recaro's i swapped my old tom's bucket seat plus some cash for from a fellow member p.s i know i need the doorcards but they were manual so couldnt swap mine for them and my car guard mooncat, he's a secret ninja from greece then I've been needing these for ages and whilst randomly getting wasted with some mates one of them digs these outa his pocket and asks if anybody wants them, to which i gladly took em off him hands my exhaust has always had a little bit of swing in it and occasionally knocks somewhere so hopefully these will sort that out as always all comment welcome guys

Good write up, cheers taggy/admin for that, might have to do this to mine one day! -
Nice and precise there lol why not just say 100, still thats appalling, hope they dont sell your lead boots anymore
-
Its quite funny most my mates get pissy because it manages such good mpg yets is still pretty rapid
-
In mine 1.6 4age I managed cruising at 80-90 on a motorway 35mpg and that involved a very lengthy flat out blast. This was over a 320 mile trip. Taking it easy ill get high 30's low 40's. I dont think therd be much difference between the two cars just the lack of torque in a civic would mean more abuse, throttle revs etc so maybe high fuel consumption
-
Well, I did say it was prob a k24 or atleast running nos, theres alot that can be done to the k20 to make them quicker and until we know any different that civic had typical boltons an maybe a tune. Probably has alot more bit who are we to speculate, this is a starlet forum not a civic one. And us jap junkies will always stick together
-
It also depends on how much drivetrain loss there is, if the civics putting down 180-90hp and the focus 240hp for example, then the difference is made smaller, then youve got the fact the st might have TC which with all that torque would no doubt be kicking in then limiting the power therefore tipping the balance in favour of the civic even more. This is just speculation of couse
-
haha that involves thought and effort! both of which i dont have today
