  1. Sure it wasnt just the car behind double flashing his lights trying to trick you, I had a mate do it to me with h.i.d's and beleive me it can look really similar especially if your not looking at the time. Also if you know you werent speeding you have nothing to worry about, the two flashes and the lines on the road are there to measure your speed so you can actually work it out yourself.... apparently.
  2. im in the same boat, I've upgraded the fronts and its just as bad as before. i have had a look and it seems the speakers behind/under the dash need a case on the back of them to force the sound out forward as i tried the speakers enclosed and they sounded 1000000000x better lol also my friend had a slimline 6" sub that fitted underneath the front seat of his civic, gave good sound for the size and you never even knew it was there
  3. its got a trd strut brace and I've got rid of the intake chamber, pipe and hks filter and put on trumpets and a sausage filter now, looking at getting carbon cam and plug covers aswell
  4. plain and simple or with my old engine
  5. my mate works in a garage that is a stockist for new era imports so i had a chat with him who put me through to matt brown and miguel of newera and they sorted it out, £900 shipped with all fees with 18,000 miles on it, with all ancilleries and ecu. no gearbox tho but i had one already so wasnt required
  6. tbh, i dont think it was all that noticable, after i did the 16v 4age swap first of all and was still on the standard SR setup i was expecting loads of understeer but it quite limited. Im sure a 4efe would have a greater breaking point of u/s but this isnt far off of it, especially now with the BC's ALK and polybushed FARB and no powersteering, its really predictable and precise. but the best test will be when i finally get it on track I've always though this and im sure its do-able with a write up and a conversion harness, but the biggest problem is because the chassis rail has to be cut
  7. Cheers, and at times I do but the reason I wanted to do this swap is because I wanted to br different. I always knew that there would be quicker cars and starlets around and that if I was slightly quicker than one one day a couple hundred quid remap it would be a different story. But its nice seeing ppls faces when you tell them its still n/a, and in all fairness these cars dont have the best chassis in the world so if u start going silly on power you really do start struggling for grip, especially without an lsd and desent tyres lol Personally I plan on a new exhuast mani, cams, ecu and a 5s
  8. i know I've been giggling like a school girl since fitting them lol, it sounds alot better and louder than on the vid haha yeah mate deffo i think theres another fyc meet soon so maybe then? if not ill give u a shout when im heading your way
  9. just fitted some velocity stacks/trumpets to the motor heres a lil flyby vid, altho they are there loudest at about 4k, but here it is full chat. oh and my bad for the slip into 4th http://youtu.be/c9fzO9qtg14
  10. Dude this sucks, fucking pikey cunts needs to sort their faces out and get a life!! Dont supose a steering wheel lock and wheel clamp.would help as they would vandalise it :/ Hope u sort this out somehow!!
  11. Most people will recommend a anti lift kit £65ish and a rear anti roll bar £160ish then I guess some new gas shocks and a basic set of springs (rsr-tein etc) but they will set u back more than £250 alone I should think, If your springs arent broke and shocks arent leaking id look at the other two bits first plus maybe get your tracking set, and possibly new bushes?? Be worth getting more than just my opoinion tho thats Just my 2 pence
  12. U get a free redbull x2010 its mental!! Interior veiw on all cars albeit very basic on standard model cars. More control over changable weather A new intro video if u choose to download it. A load of 2011 model nascars Quicker loading of in game menus Better in race options Groups, restrictions and classes in online mode New race suits New photo mode locations And a new tab on the main menu for the dlc soon to be released Then theres various bug fixes and other stuff I've forgoten and dont care about
  13. Considered doing this to my old micra, it was exactly the same as this lol Impresive pod times aswell, I bet that lsd helps loads The work involved reminds me so much of doing the 4age swap in my starlet. Goodwork man im very impressed!!
  14. In the case of his car it was to reduce drag aswel, at it was originally only 75hp, meaning it was biased as a fwd car but when the fronts lost traction then the rears came in, but the way it worked only put a limited amount of power through (70-30 or something) which is why the rear diff never destroyed itself prior to the solid prop. So if thats how the starlets work, I couldnt see why it couldnt be done? Oh and now his car has a welded rear diff yes it is now a pain in the arse to turn tight corners! Edit... just re-thought this and its prob the same setup as a starlet so diff wind up
  15. Not sure if this is the same or not but my mate has a subaru justy awd with a swift gti turbo engine in it (currently running 214whp) and his used to run a viscous coupling just before the rear diff, he put a solid shaft in instead but had to weld the rear diff as it would have shat itself if he didnt. Oh he also got his prop mounts poly filled at the same time. Needless to say he got his standing 1/4 mile down by 0.5secs from 12.9 to 12.4 making it the fastest justy in the country lol
  16. Me, my mate and his dad did the welding. Currently using a ae92 box but looking to upgrade to a ae111 5spd lsd Basically u need all custom mounts, wiring loom, and ideally 2 custom shafts to go from ae** gearbox hubs to downsize to ep** starlet hubs, I machined my hubs out to use all ae** parts with a vw passat bearing and the ae stub axles pressed in, I also managed to use the ae** drivers side shaft whole and only had to have one custom shaft made. Like I said not easy!! theres a few pics in my build thread or if u want to know a bit more feel free to ask and ill sort some pics out of i
  17. I saw that aswel congrats who ever it is, I also spotted in practical performance mag a black gt on red lipped toms wheels (i think) it was at jap fest 2 at donny? Only thing is they labeled it as a pulsar lol
  18. Welcome along mate, and theirs actually 2 or us in the uk with 4age b.t powered black sr's and also a 2zzge ep82 on here aswell And to answer your question no its not easy, but its bloody good fun when its done
  19. Couple to try would be camskills Fensport (tend to be expensive) Funkypower And the traders On the forum would also be worth ago Im sure their are plenty of others to try their just what springs to mind
  20. I know my cars got a different engine but I had the same problem, it was the o2/lambda playing up and I had removed the charcoal canister and was running a vaccuum line straight onto the fuel tank breather, instead of through it, this caused almost exactly the same problem. Simple fix blocked the vaccuum line and left the breather going to atmosphere Just something else to consider
  21. Just out of curiousity has anyone tried the new toyo R1r's inbetween t1r's and r888's I've read good things apart from fast wearing, but cars vary so would like to know feed back from ep owners, also their on offer on camskills for 63quid I think :/
