  1. Me, my mate and his dad did the welding. Currently using a ae92 box but looking to upgrade to a ae111 5spd lsd Basically u need all custom mounts, wiring loom, and ideally 2 custom shafts to go from ae** gearbox hubs to downsize to ep** starlet hubs, I machined my hubs out to use all ae** parts with a vw passat bearing and the ae stub axles pressed in, I also managed to use the ae** drivers side shaft whole and only had to have one custom shaft made. Like I said not easy!! theres a few pics in my build thread or if u want to know a bit more feel free to ask and ill sort some pics out of it all
  2. I saw that aswel congrats who ever it is, I also spotted in practical performance mag a black gt on red lipped toms wheels (i think) it was at jap fest 2 at donny? Only thing is they labeled it as a pulsar lol
  3. Welcome along mate, and theirs actually 2 or us in the uk with 4age b.t powered black sr's and also a 2zzge ep82 on here aswell And to answer your question no its not easy, but its bloody good fun when its done
  4. Couple to try would be camskills Fensport (tend to be expensive) Funkypower And the traders On the forum would also be worth ago Im sure their are plenty of others to try their just what springs to mind
  5. I know my cars got a different engine but I had the same problem, it was the o2/lambda playing up and I had removed the charcoal canister and was running a vaccuum line straight onto the fuel tank breather, instead of through it, this caused almost exactly the same problem. Simple fix blocked the vaccuum line and left the breather going to atmosphere Just something else to consider
  6. Just out of curiousity has anyone tried the new toyo R1r's inbetween t1r's and r888's I've read good things apart from fast wearing, but cars vary so would like to know feed back from ep owners, also their on offer on camskills for 63quid I think :/
  7. 4efe would be easier but they are cast iron blocks the 4zz is an ally engine so would help power to weight a bit, and drinking oil wont be a prob as its a rally car so id assume it would get regular services? I would be concerned about clearance on the exhaust manifold as its on the back and the bulkhead isnt designed for it. As for wiring stick a aftermarket ecu on it and save the hassle of the wiring
  8. Even got one of mine with the bonnet up (in the tengoku stand), must have been early saturday as it was closed bcoz of the wind! Good pics aswel by the way
  9. Probably just gone and jinxed it now but my starbo is looking like its actually guna make jae for the 1st time in four years ;) shame ill be on a different stand but if your lucky ill bring it over
  10. How many times does he mention how reliable the engine is lol
  11. bolt the filter directly to the bulkhead, I've got loads of spare room for a brace now, by the way yes thats actually a massive mission to do
  12. word of warning with the VVTL-I engines the oil pumps are SHIT I've looked into it and most people fit a toda or similar oil pump for £400 just for the gears then you have the fun of fitting them, not sure if this was changed in later models but even lotus use the toda oil pump in their cars. and yeah the vvt-i engines do use a bit of oil but other than that their ok, oh and early yaris's have crap flywheels apparently :/
  13. I know your pain only too well man! my car was a complete bitch its spent more than half its life off the road, but now its nearly complete and drivable i get such a grin everytime i drive it, it makes all the hardwork worth it
  14. Yeah indeed mate I need to meet some other owners im stuck in a town with civics and golfs
  15. so general update, been dyno'd at 167hp and 121lb ft, so very happy that the engines healthy. dyno video's first power run http://youtu.be/cjhcV21u3Zw 2nd run http://youtu.be/B1hmDie16LI not sure which this was but 1080p greatness http://youtu.be/uYkwmNPLzJk dyno was done at clive atthow in norwich on a dasket 1500hp dyno, should be fairly accurate as a friend got his FD2 civic type R dyno'd which should make 222hp stock and it made 223hp so it was a nice comparison so have. acceleration vid. http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o310/mo...nt=MOV00129.mp4 I've posted these up in the video section but thought they may aswel be in here also as its where their from
  16. Now earn 1080 a month And some how managed to get both my modded cars insured for £600. admiral multi car and 3 years noclaims As for bills im lucky and I live at home and I resently cut my phone bill from 45 to 15 saving 360 a year! Its the little things that help bcoz u dont tend to notice it straight away so u end up with a nice lil bit of dollar every no and again
  17. I have the most expensive optional mats But u could spent a fortune kiting your car up with all them extra bits haha Oh and tte splitter... Big T-sr has one and hes on the mainland thats if he hasnt got rid!

  20. Well if that is the case its nearly identical to the style of the corolla front end on my car, not a conplaint I like it I would try fit my fog lights and sr lip aswel tho and not go euro style
  21. the red one reminds me of a metro and both of them bumpers are from facelift bugeye corolla's like mine 1, I've never even considered that they would fit, not that i like them either tho
  22. haha tell me about it I was grinning ear to ear when it was doibg these lol, and I cant wait to get open throttles on it will be even louder And revs were at 7777rpm when it hit the speed limiter in 4th im not sure if these go to 8250 or 8400, either way the power was still climbing when it hit it And their is a build thread in the n/a section, but im far to slack to keep it up to date haha Oh ill be getting the printout uploaded soon aswel!!
  23. Yeah I mite hav to get one then, along with some new clocks lol watching the rev counter and speedo bury themselves can get u a lil paranoid at times lol
  24. If I was you I would measure your disc as I have a 98 sr but it had 238s on it.
  25. Hey anyone regarding speed limiters as I have uk clocks my mate recons its not as easy as just gettin a scd and fitting it as it needs the conversion thing aswel. Not too clued up on this as im kinda in the dark with this swap being 1 of a handful of 4age powered ep's!?!? Lol
