Hahaha mate yeah know what you mean 👍🏻
-
I would say yes mate to that although make sure you get a genuine one not a fake, it's always money money money with these things, I would definitely change the manifold too
-
So first things first mate get it on a rolling road ASAP to check the fuelling then go from there 👍🏻
-
Yes do mate they are fantastic service too
-
I have a prosport boost gauge and they seem to do the job well there not the best but I think there spot on. Rspec.co.uk
-
Don't worry mate about I know it's not much so far and your still learning, everyone has to start somewhere, I'm still learning and often ask for advice on here, always bugging 5e colin for help, and even ask bug679 in this thread for advice at times it's good to ask 👍🏻, bugs also right aswell with the afr that needs to be checked asap, can I ask haggis what is the jam ecu mapped to? Or did you just plug it in etc?
-
Liam D use to do everyone's on here from midlands turbo, or find him on Facebook under Liam Doyle 👍🏻
-
I was just about to say whitenoize had one awhile back I take it you sold it mate
-
Make sure you get a half decent boost gauge mate not these cheap ones of eBay, everyone's got different opinions here but personally I wouldn't even use boost until I worked out what's actually on the car and what needs changing etc, maybe I'm wrong here but was wondering what a jam ecu is doing on the car when everything is totally stock?
-
Like in the last post mate wouldn't even bother with this get it sent off
-
I don't want to read anymore of this post, it's not looking good
-
Thought the budget ones were good mate but I do see what your saying 👍🏻
-
What about them coilovers you did before Colin mate
-
Will do thankyou mate won't be just yet though 👍🏻
-
Engines don't come up that often but there has been a few on Facebook recently 👍🏻
-
Yeah thanks mate not looking to put the ecu just yet as need to find a place that can do it and hardwire it in, no where in my area that will do it, but seems there are places up north cheers mate
-
Thankyou mate, and looking up old posts about these ecu's quite a few starlets seemed to of had them on a while back, just seems to be lack of info about nowadays about them, but obviously I'm hoping it works out aswell 👍🏻
-
I will do of course amjad, at the moment I need to see who can hardwire it and price all in to map etc, just been looking at redline website too, model wise, as you say they do vary, newer models got more features etc, but as far as I'm aware the one I have in pic above should be more then enough what I need it for. So when I get someone to do it with price then I can save the pennies
-
Ok thanks mate just got to find one now 👍🏻
-
Thankyou guys for the replys, done a lot of research on these lately and they seem very good old skool ecu's not after big power, just enough to know everything's safe, Daniel mate if Scotland was a last resort I would be up there 👍🏻 Amjad thanks for telling me that Essex isn't too far from me being in sussex, I'm trying to find out prices aswell, as it needs hardwiring in too, (shame you can't get a harness for this) it apparently has a 400bhp map on at the moment, so if I did get it hard wired in, would the car last till I got to the mappers if driving off boost of course
-
Actually good call mate lines on throttle body of they have been put on the right way if not your get coolant going straight into the cylinders
-
So I brought a Dastek Unichip piggyback ecu of another member on here, (pics at bottom) I'm trying to find a place which actually maps these, on the Dastek website there was one mapper close to me so I rang them today only to be told sorry we can't help you, is there anyone on here please that has any knowledge on these ecu's I have read abit about them in the search content, but there's not a lot of info, I suppose I just need someone to point me in the right direction please, hardwiring the ecu in doesn't seem to be a problem it's the boost module (smaller black thing in the photo I'm not to
-
Surely that's head gasket?
-
I don't touch anything on eBay especially these turbos from China mate, although you said Hong Kong I'm sure someone else we tell you yes or no, in the search bar on this forum type in ct9 or hybrid see what comes up people are always selling good turbos on here
-
Well I never Colin that's a bloody good find 👍🏻
