Bottom end knocking, just brill
crawleysam replied to crawleysam's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
I do have an 'spare' NA which I could use the engine out of, would it just be a straight swap in terms of the block and head coming out and na one going in? -
So was out last night all was well then engine management light came on, what de faq? get out check the engine and can hear a slight knock FUCK SAKE Anyway get to my destination and turn it off to let it cool down, check oil and its shat it all out near enough Listen to engine and defo a knock My query is how would I go about fixing this? New engine, new crankshaft, new what? Any help would be appreciated

So im 90% my bottom end has gone, knocking sound coming from 1 and 2 on idle
-
Also looks like the clock blank is integrated into the dash, so therefore whole dash out and in for what would be no real reason?
-
Ahh fair enough, maybe could be a rep. But it does say ordinary engine, and regular seats? Am I right in thinking the p-sports came without an immobiliser or alarm?
-
iirc its a lightweight one yeh, without all the modcons of the glanza, single mode bost (always in hi) no clock etc. That console is the P sport console for sure and it doesnt look like its a rep. I think generally they dont do many conversions in japan as the full spec models are available. That could be dis-proven tho, just a hypothesis
-
Sure its not a P sport glanza? No clock, 1 mode turbo, manual most things, p sport console. Definitely a Glanza P sport?

Basically two bottom pipes into and out of the intercooler only had one clamp on each, the pipe down from the TB literally slid off the silicone house and similiarly to the otherside, but that one was already half off. Who ever fitted the intercooler didnt really do a good job, and along with this it was held on with one loose bolt

steering wheel fitting with snap off boss kit
crawleysam replied to djhasin's topic in Interior & ICE
Get a D1 spec snap off kit, usually around £50 off ebay. Dont get any crap quality parts for your wheel http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190590851401?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT They come in a variety of different colours, come highly recommended by a few of my mates simple google search brings up this boss http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?product=326291 The D1 is 6 stud iirc so thats nardi sparco momo etc The d1 will bring the steering wheel closer however iirc demon tweeks do short reach ones -

EP91 Starlet na EP82 GT Turbo E36 318TI Compact EP91 Starlet na (still have) EP82 GT Turbo
-
I'll have a listen to the turbo tomorrow and see what noise it makes chief
-
I will check all the joinings tomorrow and see if there are any leaks Turbo would be a good call, but does it not have any signs like smokey exhaust or some noises?
-
Just the standard one in cluster, it does move it just doesnt reach 0, but Its probably not 100% calibrated anymore, i thought it could be that. It does have a blitz turbo timer fitted would that give any indication as to a problem? I thought it could be vac as the BOV makes nearly no noise, just a bit of sucking/whining from intercooler
