  1. That safe, no unwanted side effects? Anyone else done it?
  2. Always thought my brakes were crap, kept doing things I didnt quite understand, then today i think ive realised it must be the abs... Under heavy breaking if i go over a bump even if its just a small one i feel the brake pedal go down further. Like i push the brake pedal as far as it will go, then when i go over a bump, it goes a little bit further. After it does this the brake pedal has a little bit more travel than it did before going over the bump. So gradually over a few months i loose all pedal feel and have to bleed the brakes. I always though this was just me being harsh on the brakes and with the car being so stiff (trd coilovers) it was causing the calipers to loose tension or some shit when hitting bumps. Then it happened again today when i was pulling up at the side of the road so not going fast or braking heavy, was a bit confused, i got out and noticed id pulled up onto lots of soggy slippy wet leaves. Then it clicked abs...when i go over a bump pressure on the wheel changes causing abs to kick in....must be, right? Does anyone else have this type of issue....can the abs be turned off/removed/improved? It can be quite scary when braking heavy and going over a bump because i can feel the brakes slack off. I would image it would be fine on a car with standard suspension as that would absorb most of the bumps where as coilovers dont. It also pisses me off having to bleed the brakes every few month. Fully standard brakes with a cusco BMCS. Cheers
  3. Yeah it is mint being able to see the n/a all the time and I still drive it now and again, although its really wierd driving it, felt so fast when i owned it but after drving the V all the time its just not the same. My mate has some bits planned so ill update my old thread as and when. Found a few pics on my phone that i had My zep console Also did this to the car the other day Was snow foaming it or something, dunno what it was supposed to do but it was proper mint fun, my mate is well into all this detailing stuff so i get to use all his stuff he has. Have also picked up some cheap 14" alloys which i plan to refurb at some point.
  4. Thanks for the above, couldnt ask for anything better. Ive read the pros and cons of turbo stall so ill see how it goes. Thanks again.
  5. Was also wondering this, i fancy some chattery goodness. EDIT: Ive just been thinking if i remove the line from the inlet, where will i get a reading for my boost gauge or should i just block it from after where the boost gauge is plumbed in?
  6. Yeah was nice to meet all the manchester lot, was mint fun getting kicked out of tesco the first time and listening to vtechs blasting through the centre of huddersfield. We also took it slow back home on the motorway, could see bugger all with all the rain.
  7. So you supposed to have it off then?
  8. Are you supposed to do it with the engine off? Last time i did it with it on, does it make a difference?
  9. I got a set of 5 in good condition all with decent tyres for £120 so dont go too crazy if there kirbed to death.
  10. Its is a giant twat of a job to do, there is a lip round the back part of the lambda sensor so if you dont have a perfect size spanner its pretty impossible to get off. If you still have aircon and the stadard efi pipe be prepared to swear a lot. Id also remove the rad so you have a bit more to work, even then its still a twat. Also watch out for boost creep after you fit it. Had to turn my actuator down to below .6 bar and it creeps upto .8 bar.
  11. Pretty sure my n/a never did it, next time your bored and stuck in traffic test it out.
  12. Glad im not the only one, starts up fine and i know the battery is fine. Just another quirk of owning a starlet I guess then.
  13. This doesnt really bother me I was just wondering is it some clever design or my electrics being crap? I was stuck still in traffic the other night whilst it was raining. In my bordem i realised my wipers were moving lots slower than normal (on constant just wiping slower). Then when I started moving again they went back to normal. At first i though thats cool that they slow down when your not moving because they dont need to wipe as much rain off. Then i noticed my lights would also get brighter when i started moving, i couldnt see this as a clever design which ever way i looked at it. So basically i discovered my electrics work better when i put my foot down, defo no clever design. Anyone else have this, is there a quick fix for it because now i image my car now looks like one of them old pedal bikes that used to have a light connected to the front wheel, the more you pedal the brighter it got. EP91 Glanza V too

  17. Thought it was an ace race, last few laps were mental but Hamilton fully deserved the title, never been so pleased to see a Toyota going so slow. I enjoyed this bit...haha
  18. Quick update of how things are now..... I got the exhaust sorted and put where it should be, the middle box was caved in so had that cut out and a pipe put in its place also had a new flex section for the front as that was caved in. Wasnt happy about it a first but love it now, really opened the exhaust noise up. Its still quiet enough when normally driving but on boost it sounds mental, love it. I then managed to get a RX7 tmic, put that on and it really opened up the top end pulled lots more upto the red line and boost didnt drop off. After that i got an sps decat pipe, got that installed so now running a turbo back. Sounds savage on boost now with the decat. Installing the decat left me whith boost creep issues so i got a toytuning actuator to try and calm things down. It helped a little but defo didnt cure things. So i now have the actuator set to just above .5 bar which then creeps upto .8 bar after around 4000rpm, not too bad when im giving it some but crap if i sudenly want some power and im in the wrong gear. I still manage to flick the engine management light on ever now and again too. So next on the list is getting the wastegate ported and also the manifold, hopefully this will sort everything out and get it running steady. Took a few pics last night, not tried any night pics before but they came out ok, also got some more Glanza stickers for the rear quarters. Pics. You can sort of see the rx7 tmic here but ill get some better pics soon You can see that the exhaust is now where it should be and not burning the bumper anymore Then just a few random ones And just a quick on of my old red starlet, my mate owns it now so its cool that i get to see it all the time still....

  23. Yeah that helps clear it up in my head whats happening, but cant think what to do........I can hardly restrict the standard air intake and dont quite know what i could put in the exhaust, any chance you could point me in the direction of the thread on tgtt....? Its beginig to anoy me now had to turn down the boost tonight with the colder weather and its not even at its coldest, come winter ill be running .4 bar at this rate.....anywhere that could port my wastegate for me?
