Car was feeling a bit sluggish today when shifting like when i was up shifting it was if it was at bite for a few seconds then it would grip into gear, like the revs rose about 500rpm then fell back down when it gripped. Before when i changed gear you could feel it pull loads each gear change, now its just flat then seems to plod into gear. Also at one bit doing about 40 in 4th planted it, revs flew up car went no where. Done a bit of reading up and im pretty certain clutch is going just want confirmation really with this being my first car. If it is how long can i expect it to last before the car will go no where? What are my options on getting a new one? Im planning on getting a V in just under 2 months so could really do without this, money is tight at the min too, should i just get a new standard one? How much monies am i going to be looking at for parts and labour? Thanks

Pictures came out a bit wank seemed to be a little too dark. Took a few pics of both mine and Craig's car together so you can see how slammed his is on the koni's. Mine is lowed 40mm and looks standard when its next to Craig's. Mine is very dirty too.

Not updated this for a bit so thought it was about time. Got some crystal headlights a few months back thanks to Rick and TC trading, also put the orange indicators back on as they were the first thing i swapped when the car was standard, quite like them orange now. Also got a proper import size front plate the same size as the back just as liam sugested, so thanks for that, looks loads better. Pics: The plan was then to leave it as it was but things never go to plan and i decided to get her decated last week, defo one of the best things ive done, has brought the exhaust to life and pulls so much harder now, no more flat spots. Finally got round to putting a quick clip together with the decat. Got my decat done yesterday at exhausts UK £60 so not too bad, at first i though it was a bit wank seemed to make no difference at all and made the exhaust (TTE backbox off a SR) mega raspy there were new flat spots all over the revs, this is all while i had an open air filter in. So i thought ill give it a try with the standard airbox and my K&N pannel filter before i get the cat back in and fuck me its mint, the car feels fully different, pulls all through the revs a lot harder now, no more flat spots at all, love it. Only think is the backbox sounds too raspy at times like in the first 3000 revs when booting it, but it has made the exhaust a lot lot noisier than it was. Another thing is it stinks of petrol fumes now, this normal? Petrol useage has also gone up stupidly. Ill get a vid at the weekend, but over all defo worth it on a standard exhaust system especially for 60 quid. (i also have the rolla mani which helps loads too)

How much did it cost you rich? Didnt realise you could decat a standard system. Going get mine now, ive only got the tte backbox off a SR so i would think it would be pretty much same as de cat on on standard backbox. Ill try and get it done ont weekend and let you know how it goes.

My mate has a de cat in his SR and he hates it. Makes it so mega noisy (although he does have a full exhaust system) and he says its lost some power after having it done. So he is having it put back in.

Good code I used it a bit back. I did get charged 27 quid import charges though which made what I bought no cheaper than buying it over here. It was a trd shoft shifter too.

My n/a petrol consumption is beyond a joke around 220 to a full tank is all i can get. Must be something not quite right.

Try a toyota dealer, mine is getting me the fog lamps although there taking there time they promise me they can still get them might be same with the roof rack.

Ive got the sales books for the uk spec starlets and all it lists as Dealer Accessorys are: Alloy Wheels Rear Tailgate Spoiler Roof Rack & Accessories Front Fog Lamps Headlight Protector Audio Upgrade This is the page with them on, would love to see the book that jay has with all the other dealer options. Also in the 98 sales book it has this cool like coin holder thing does anyone have one, cant recall ever seeing one would make a nice feature for the blanking plate I have.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. Everyone always tells me to change the orange side lights but I like them, think they work well against the red. Also im not a fan of spoilers on the n/a's, its either full Glanza or none at all for me. But i think im going to take Liam's suggestion up and get a proper size import plate for the front, i got the front one well before i got the back so thats why they dont match. Anyway did a quick bit of diy this weekend. Relaised the chaces of getting a TRD dial surround is rather slim so I painted the dial surround I had off the sportif clocks gloss black. I think it worked pretty well too so im pleased with the results. Was going to do the centre console but i think it will look rather bodged so didnt bother. Took a few pics, although it does look loads better in person. Before After Hopefully ill have the OEM n/a fogs soon, sick of waiting for them now.

Been on here a good 6 months now and never got round to posting my car up so here it is at last. Got the car in August last year off my very kind mother, for nothing. Unfortunatly I dont have any before pics but it was just a box standard sportif with very pink paintwork, too a lot of effort to get it looking red again. Pictures Its really hard to take good pictures of red cars, they always seem to come out looking more pink but it is nice and shiney red in person. The plan now is to keep this as it is untill I can insure a Glanza (5 months to go) got the money ready just need my 1yr ncb, so any new parts i buy for it will be things that I can transfer into the Glanza. I have got some OEM n/a foglights on order too but toyota seem to be taking there time as usual. Ill try and keep this updated with new pics as much as i can. David.
