  1. LOL. GT No mods, fairly standard car Insured at £900 21 no years driving, license held for 4 years.
  2. No, it is on the G27 Aww what you kidding me? It isn't compatible with the PS4? What the hell man? That sucks, if that isn't then I doubt my G27 will be :/
  3. Yeah, no I didn't lol. I looked at it and was just like wtf is that suppose to do! FML! The heads probably going to be off for a few months anyway. So plenty of time to figure out how it goes back together. Is it worth me having the head rebuilt whilst it's off?
  4. Proper sex there mate. Will that rust? Could consider some VHT Lacquer if that's the case. Just so it stays PHRESH!
  5. From what I've read, by no means an expert. No mate, that isn't safe to run on stock ECU. For peace of mind I'd tell him to get an emanage and a proper map. That's me personally. You need to use photobucket or what not and upload to that site then copy the image location in the photo icon in the text area,.
  6. I would like to add, if I may, I have owned this before. And it is EASILY THE BEST peripheral you can buy if you enjoy racing games. It radically transforms the game especially if you're into Gran Turismo it's an absolute must have. I only sold mine to buy the G27 Logitech. And Whilst that one is better, IT DOES EXACTLY THE SAME JOB. Just with the novelty of the clutch and 6 speed box. Which sometimes I wish was sequential like the Driving force. I battered my Driving force for many an hour and it never wore, or broke. Quality bit of kit and I just leave my wheel set up all the time for the odd 20 minute blast. So much fun. If you're into your racing games then get a wheel like this. It gave me SO much more of an appreciation of Polyphony digital when I played with this wheel. Every car feels different. Yeah, top bit of kit IMO. Oh and on GT you can use that reds knob to adjust all your settings on the fly, like TCS and ABS and brake balance and what not as you drive round the track. I have that stand as well and it's was a good stand for the money. I wouldn't go out and buy the G27 again for the amount I play GT. But I'd easily snap this up
  7. Looking lovely pal! Love that interior. Interesting read about the forged business. Definitely swayed my mind about staying stock. Also, you could have just built that engine yourself. It's not rocket science, I mean it seemed like a long time to wait and the money you would have saved would have been nice. Plus if you dropped the engine and just sat and worked on it each night, sending the specialist bits off appropriately I'm sure you'd have done it AND more importantly, learned some new skills. Also remember, those ACL bearings are only good for 25K miles, so be sure to get them replaced when the time comes. Another reason why I'll stay with the stock mains and internals. I think 200 bhp in a tin can with no safety features, that'll do me. But yeah, love that interior. Prefer the rear seats in and those new wheels are much nicer than the Rotas you had. Overall a very sexy machine!
  8. Aww guttering. I was fuming mate. Was a shame cause she was boosting absolutely sweet. I would have loved for thks car to have actually worked lol. It's my first ever car. I've got no mechanics background other than working on my 125. So to have this engine stripped down into bits is a bit of a stretch of my skills. But I never intended to commute in this car so there is no urgency on it. Just taking my time. I'll get there. Although I must admit, without you guys it would be a DAMN sight harder! Amazing, I could never imagine having a bash at this twenty years ago.
  9. So if I go to Halfords and ask for a Long Weight they should be able to help me? Yeah well may as well whilst I'm there.
  10. Amazing what a difference you've made. I'll keep an eye on this!
  11. Well it wasn't no water but by the time the temperature became significant and I noticed it would have been very little. Yeah I did get a new gasket just out of habit and did think that was odd why it was like putty when I took it off :/ I would want to get the deck checked but I'm not prepared to take the block off at this stage.I realise this IS going to bite me in the arse but I only really see one reason why I'd go that far and that would be for an engine rebuild. If I go to all that trouble then I may as well go the whole hog and do the mains at the same time. Sort it all out. Which is my intention, just not at this moment in time. I actually want to drive it for a while first. Didn't really have much of an option. I phoned everyone I knew to help but people tend to keep to themselves on a Sunday and I wasn't calling recovery for round the corner jobby. Especially a Sunday recovery for two mile job. I take the outcomes on the chin at the end of the day this car needed attention before I drove it, I may have made it worse but It was the best decision I could think of at the time.
  12. Don't ask Collin... Basically, I was investigating this problem a while back. And was like oh there is no thermostat. Replaced it and then took the car for MY FIRST DRIVE whilst I've had it home. I drove it home 90 miles fine. But this would be my first drive in my home town. Was absolutely loving it. Until I looked down and noticed the temperature gauge in the RED. Pulled over and popped the bonnet to find that the thermostat housing had leaked coolant, all its coolant. Had to drive it two miles with no coolant. Hence the white plugs. They were golden brown when I changed them when I got home/.
  13. Welcome dude. I'm no expert but when my brothers Punto GT Turbo made this noise it was because the turbo was starting to fail. Are you noticing any smoke on boost?
  14. Alright sweet the heads off now. Does look like it might have just been the head gasket. Although They were driving it around like this for some time. Cowboys. Going to have to be next month now before I can take it a shop to have machined flat.
  15. That's mint. I can't imagine buying anything for £75 with as much value for money as this lmao. Good luck, I'm sure it'll sell in no time.
  16. Similar to my personal project, except mines using a Raspberry pi and also can play playstation games in the car
  17. Yeah but I'm replacing the belt And let's assume that the crank has already moved and well actually one set of cam lobes are already out so I will want to go back to first principles on this one.
  18. No I don't. Don't you need an air compressor for one of those? So annoying. To tell you the truth I was just hoping to buy a GT Turbo and drive it. It's my first car and I've wanted one of these for years. I made that mistake of just buying the first car I saw like a kid at a candy store. It was just so nice to drive. I know I'm going to strip this engine down and find out it's got some serious damage. I'm not a mechanic, I work in IT FFS lol. Yeah I've built a few engines and tinkered about with mechanics but I am FAR from qualified. It's just so frustrating to buy a car that you're told is fine when it's not. I even said to the guy when I test drove it that the Head gaskets gone. And he was like nah mate DEFINITELY not the head gasket. Which tells me that he probably investigated it to find out it wants a fuck ton of work and sold it on to me. Fine, I'll sort it out. Just don't earn enough wedge to chuck at it to do. Also, I'm going to COMPLETELY fuck up the timings on this engine when I dismantle it. Now on other engines I've built, there are no valves. Thus timing was relatively straight forward. Just needed to match up the balancer shaft with piston at TDC. So going on this fairly novice angle. I'm presuming that a similar approach applies to four strokes. Put piston X at TDC. LOCK. Then match the cam gears so they mesh at the dots. And to do that presumably you just make sure Cam 2 is facing a certain way and then cam 1 the same. And then it's literally wack a timing gun on it to fine tune it back to normal/
  19. Lol, fair enough. I'll do that tomorrow. As said I've done it when building engines, but I've always hated doing it.
  20. THIS! Actually achievable with 300 bhp engines. Again wouldn't be very good though.
  21. Nice block. But they are HUGE. Be a shame to butcher the chassis but yeah there is always that. It wouldn't really be a starlet after he's finished with it though really. Aww what really? I thought the Civic, Integra and S2000 all used the K20's. That's a shame but yeah what he said lol. That said though K20's are still solid engines. 200 bhp stock N/A
  22. The good thing about those engines is that they really are over engineered. So naturally they're prone to tuning. There is also a big community out there and it's a VERY COMMON engine so parts will be relatively cheap and still able to come by in years to come. The only limitations are going to be its displacement of the 2.0 litre. Naturally the Skyline has a bigger engine or the Supras but will they fit in the bonnet? I don't even think this would. But I reckon a K20 would be a nice way to go. They're a power house stock putting out twice the bhp than a Starlet without a need of a turbo, just the extra 700cc's. And Honda have that famous old reliability going for them so you know they will take a battering. Much like most Jap cars. But just saying about this one in particular. Any roads I'd be well interested in seeing a build for that
  23. For me that is just pure car porn lmao.
  24. Is there even enough room to fit an engine that powerful? Jeez. If it were me. Now everyone will hate for me saying this but I'd go K20 turbo. Personally. They do a K20 stock engine that puts out 260 bhp WITHOUT A TURBO (Honda's S2000). So boosted alone you're looking at 330+ bhp. With porting, head work, ignition, fueling then 400+. Then it's just fck off turbos a severe tuning. I know my favourite super car in the world runs the K20 Turbo. I say super car by that I mean a supped up normal car. My favourite, the gorgeous, GT1 Turbo But that's just me. I think they got that to just Shy of 600 bhp. Can't remember. But he died before he finished tuning it :/ I love this car.
  25. Is that recommended? Last thing I want to do is cause more problems. I have done this before when building engines where I've locked off the gears using similar methods. I'm just skeptical about it. And thanks for the input
