Well I've been in both and the Starlet would smash the Mazda. I'd say it would smash it round a track to. You also get four seats. But there is DEFINITELY something special about driving the mazda. From where you are sat to the fact it's rear wheel drive. It's a hard choice. But for the money, you'd get a higher spec Glanza, that''s for sure.

My dad currently owns a BBR Turbo mazda It's a solid Car. 1.8 Turbo, amazing cars to drive, ain't quite as fast as a TD04 starlet. And his is a 1.8. But it's a different kind of fast. So it's all really what you want. Also he spent a fortune turboing it. And the money he spent turboing it could have had a forged Glanza. But he didn't want that. He wanted a two seater roofless car. And it's a cracking motor. I've just read Ollie's post. And Yeah I agree. And I've been in both very recently. Brother has a td04 GT.

Alright mate, Just a quick note I bought one of fleabay new, and it was broken. And they've ceased communications so no refund £15 and it feels rather plasticy So avoid this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301456592522?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Yeah it's a good write up. Things like braided oil return hoses and a decent boost gauge are a must

kk thanks

How can I tell if a gt gearbox is a lsd one?

Yeah lol, that's pretty obvious when you know what you're looking at. Mines definitely not then. -

Aww no! But fair play sounds like you're on the case about it anyway. Good news about the MOT. Still looks like a smart motor -
Have a ganders in the tutorial guidance section mate. There is a really good write up in there explaining the bare minimum that you should cover when getting a new motor. But it's the same as any other motor. If you head over to TGTT then have nicely formatted service sheets that you can use to record what you have achieved.

You say that but the experts seem to disagree. Regardless of how often you change your oil, it's always going to be better to run a higher quality oil for long periods of time, rather than a lower grade oil for any time at all. But by lower grade I'm talking Morrisons own oil or Car Lube or something similar. For some of you, like Colin, a rebuild might just be one of those things and is second nature. But I'd prefer not to rebuild the engine at this stage. I've been using Magnetec but I think I'm going to bung that on, use Silkolene like I do on my bikes. But from what I hear, 6 or 1 they're all the same.

Haha, nice. I'm keeping my eyes peeled on this one.

I bet that was quite a surprise when you found out you had an LSD box -
Lol tell me about it. I don't even need seats, just the rails. But the chances of getting them without the seat I'll just have to roll around with no back part to the seat. Be alright.

Uprated Gear Linkage Installation Help?
Calum122 replied to Calum122's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
Right I just want to finish this off and say I used a dremel with a very light grit sanding tool just to take the edge off slightly, fitted the bushes a treat. not so much that it was sloppy, it's still tight but no where near as tight as before. Then took some wet and dry to the shaft and cleaned it up and that slide over nicely. Again this was light ten-twenty seconds just rubbing the shaft <giggity> to make it easier to get on. Job done. Took 5-10 minutes in total. Repacked with grease.- 13 replies

It seems like these are in massive demand at the moment. I literally just need this part:
-
You actually can do this! >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgWdOUUGR60&spfreload=10 There is literally so much application for one of these. Hell they're cheap enough to have two!
-
Alright mate have you got this item for sale: Its the Drivers side right hand rail ratchet mechanism.
-
Yeah its massively overkill. I have got a blue tooth module for the pi. Again not shown here. But I could easily pair my phone to the pi. Not sure what I could do. Maybe read text messages and that's about it. Yeah I think it's more that I could. Not sure i'd trust the sat nav on the pi lol. But it's nice to have something that will play movies/songs and games lol.

If you guys are interested it's not my idea. I thought hey wouldn't be cool to install a pi in my car. And found someone who has done all the work! Checkout Engineering Blogspot diy. There is a tutorial all there for anyone who wants to do it. When I started it was really hard. But now he's made it just and install. It's really easy now!

So for those of you who are interested. Here is the Car PC Project. I'm using a Raspberry Pi Model B+, a credit card sized computer that is used for programming on. It's a fully fledged Linux based operating system called Raspbian. It does everything you would expect a normal computer to do, except this only costs £35. It also allows you to tap into the boards pins so that you peripherals such as rotary encoders, FM chip models and the likes. This nifty little computer may only run a 500 Mhz clock speed but it can still run full HD videos and play games like quake. I've combined the raspberry pi with a £25 GPS device and using 'Andrei's' operating system I've been able to add in an open source satellite navigation program. The raspberry pi is not capable of RTC (real time clock). When you turn it off, it will boot up with the last known time. Data gleaned from the GPS device on ttyACM0 can be used to update the Pi's real time, and bypass the fake RTC. Amongst this bag of goodies, and not shown here, is an FM module chip that I've been able to install. As well as using songs already installed on the Pi, I wanted to be able to tune in to FM radio. This breakout board allows me to do just that. As said two rotary encodes are also plugged into the boards GPIO pins to allow me to turn the volume up and down, and also select songs. I've been able to extend the USB ports selection from 4 to 11 by using an external USB hub. This will allow you charge multiple devices via usb, as well as plug in memory sticks and play songs/games from that. Although the not shown here, there is also a web browser should you need to use it. I've been able to configure the Pi to accept internet connection via your phones connection (tethering). By using preexisting service program, Dhclient, I can get my phone to assign the pi a LocalIP address and start routing internet traffic. This can be used for RSS feeds directly fed into KODI and displayed in the media center. The sky is literally the limit here, and I'v eonly begun to scratch the surface, you expect more updates as time moves on with this project. Currently limited by a slow clock speed and an ARM processor. It's not yet possible to run a Windows machine on the Pi (not that you would want to, Linux is far superior, lightweight and thus faster). Can change the theme so that it's a little more 'Touch screen' friendly. PS checkout my rocking Toyota Logo It's hard to hold it all together a take a shot. But it basically says Music Programs Shutdown on the right hand side. And Videos Navigation and Radio on the left. The settings is on the bottom and the time is up the top. Bitchin right If you're interested then watch the video for how it's setup. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bl4UwCYSdKs&feature=youtu.be Let me know what you think. it's not finished yet. All the pieces were hand made. No CnC machinary. Had to train drill out the screen and file down. TOOK HOURS!

I never understood TOM's stuff. Always looks shite to me. Like real over the top. I really want the Cusco rear strut. But it's so unimportant at the moment that there is no point. Shaun since buying your wheels, I still haven't even the driven the car.
-
I believe you modify your existing rails
-
They handle Okay, but no where near as close as an EP3 type R. But I mean given that it's old hat technology then yeah it's pretty sweet.
