Small update time! I got a dmack tarmac 195/50/13 fitted to my custom 7j wheel just to test fit. will be running these tyres at first. if i dont like how long they last i will move to a 225/45/13 R888. I got a small list of parts to fit over my week off at the end of this month. Got brand new wishbones, subframe bushings, ARB bushings, wishbone bushings, adjustable rear panard rod, paint the underside of the car, I also fitted some wide arches and I think they look ace with the wheels. I also imported and fitted a pair of facelift crystal headlights and clear side indicators. Looks alot better.

Car is still here just saving money to do the job correct first time! Just bought some bride seat rails from japan and crystal headlights.

I am about 3 months behind my deadline. Car was meant to be done and on the road for japfest! Whoops. after hours of research and speaking to people I have come up with some coilovers which will be good spec and wont cost a bomb. Front coilovers I already know that corsa b front coilovers fit my car as I made some cheapy ebay ones fit. Getting a set of gaz ultra low front coilovers. Need the ultra low because the normal coilovers sit very high and dont give much travel once its lowered. Adjustable height, damping and will be getting some cusco avanzato camber plates so I got adjustable camber. Rear coilovers The rear suspension on my car is seperate spring and shock. Spring sits on the axle, shocks are separate and sit at a 25 degree angle. Rear end of the car weights naff all. Only the weight of the shell and the rear axle. The fuel tank is in the middle of the car which makes things ideal. I weighted the rear end and it near enough weights the same as a classic mini. Well just by luck classic mini rear coilovers measure up to be a perfect fit. Protech do a lovely set of rear coilovers for the mini. 14" long will be fine, adjustable height and damping. Spring rates After speaking to a fair few people in the know. We have come to a rough conclusion that 200lb on the front and 100lb on the rear will be a good starting point. The front is simple enough 200lb spring with a 4lb helper spring to keep the spring located. The rear is a little more complicated. Because of the 25ish degree angle the coilover will be sitting we need to do some maths to get the right spring rate. A 125lb spring will be near enough 100lb when its at a 25 degree angle. Once again will be running a 4lb helper spring.

Alot of you guys got me on good old bookface so you will know that I did abit of an impulse buy last night. Mint condition kevlar border bucket seat. In large as well, which means I can fit my ghetto booty in it. Does anyone know the best way and the best product to use for cleaning the seat? I also fitted my braided oil feed and return on the turbo. I drilled out the factory oil return hole in the block from 17mm to 18.5mm then I tapped it to m20 1.5 so I can screw in the AN10 fitting. I magnetised the drill bit, used loads of grease and I am dropping the sump next weekend just to make sure there is no metal fillings anywhere. I cant risk it. I am pretty happy with myself and the end result! I also got loads of braided line and AN fittings to do every fuel line, water line, oil line in my car. Also got an oil filter relocation kit coming.

More work done today! I fitted my stainless steel manifold today. Looks epic! Although its a very tight fit which may be an issue. The car is going off in a few weeks to get a tial external wastegate fitted, standard wastegate welded up on the turbo, turbo back exhaust fitted, wideband, lambda and EGT bungs fitted. Main issue with the tight room is that I can only run the screamer out of the bonnet. I would prefer it to be going under the car but that isnt possible. Bonnet exit it is! I am hoping to see better results with a decent external wastegate than the internal wastegate. Right here are the pics! You can see how tight it is.

they make awesome daily drivers. The car was meant to be my daily while I built the starlet but I just fell in love with it. They are great in fuel, full tank of shell V power is £20 and that got me about 250miles of town driving. Not very relaxed driving as well. I found on the motorway it's even better. I got from reading to Bristol on £5 of fuel with a starlet engine in the boot. They are nice to be in as well. Seats are comfy, all of then have air con as standard and some have crazy options on them.

Sweet cheers mate working today so can't really get any work done to her which is annoying

Anyone know a company who can make custom brakes? Will be looking at keeping the standard disc size which is 234mm and just uprating the a 4 pot caliper. The discs cant get much bigger than a 234mm otherwise they would never fit under 13" wheels. Half tempted to just run with standard discs and just get some 4 pot callipers made to fit on. If I get warping issue will get some custom discs made up.
-
Sweet cheers mate. Will give them a ring. Will need to send them all my house etc. I could make my own using the venhill system but venhill is expensive.

I'm amazed with the turbo. Really is magic but then it is made by HKS specially for my engine. No idea what I plan to do this weekend but I got new discs/pads,wishbones with balls joints, track rod ends and anti roll bar bushes. Should make the car drive really nice. Anyone know any company which make custom braided brake lines? Need some for my car. Also got a master cylinder stop coming from japan.

The rocker cover is all dry now and looks amazing! My mass loads of stainless steel bolts/hardware came and my oil filler cap. The filler cap was for a starlet and I was hoping it would fit being that toyota own daihatsu. I had to modify it for it fit but its worth it! Looks epic.

Paint came today I spent the evening on the rocker! The rocker was already preped but I deicded to cut off the ugly OEM intercooler brackets. Just used a hacksaw to cut them off, bench grinder to grind them down then I used a file to give it a nice finish. I thought I did a good job of it. I then painted the rocked. I used VTH black wrinkle paint. Wasnt too sure on the stuff but the good reviews made me want to give it a try. Gave the rocker three thick coats. Then left to dry for about an hour. The more eagle eyed guys on here will spot the paint from the starlet on my "painting board". Do miss the starlet. I then baked the rocker in the over for 25 minutes at around 100 degrees C. My mum really wasnt happy with this but it gives the best results! So here is the rocker all done. Should look abit better after its fully dry. Takes about a week! Looks good with the red spark plug cover!

Ahh sweet! I cant remember what you have to do now but its something to do with the ignition timing. Few people have ran them in Malaysia and just not wired in the ignition part of emanage. There is a company out there who will mod you ecu and wire in the emanage for you. I will be going Ed then. Hes local and knows his stuff.
-
not yet mate! I know he does amazing work and he has mapped a few friends car. He really knows his stuff. Only issue is I got told by a few people that he doesnt go near emanage blue. He will only do ulitmate which doesnt work with my ECU without serious modification to the circuit board. Over in Malaysia they love these things! highest power daihatsu is a 3 cylinder with a 1L block running 400bhp. Theres a few 4 cylinders running 250bhp mark. Standard engine a fair few of the Malaysians have run them at 150-160bhp without any water meth or thicker head gaskets so my targets are fairly realistic. The turbo I got is amazing. full boost at 2500 and holds it all the way to 8500. the rev limiter is at about 9500. HKS advise to only rev the car to 8000 with this turbo. Dont really know why.
-
I love them. Good friend of me bought superspats (hes an old UKSO member) old one and I love it. Its 110bhp and FWD. Even that beats corsa vxr's and its only 110bhp. Already spent a small fortune on it! The turbo is made for my engine by HKS and its £1200 brand new! I got is used off a mate and still payed silly money for it. Also planning to go external wastegate once i get the tubular manifold on. At the same time I will send the turbo off to get rebuild and a billet compressor wheel made. Here is the manifold If only i had about 4k I could by a storia X4 take the engine and running gear out of it. Would mean i would have 713cc, easy 220bhp, uprated drivetrain and lsd front and rear.

Been on this forum a fair while. Already had two projects on here. Well its best to say failed projects... This is the car which made me break the starlet and stop the project all together! This car is not going! Main reason I am on here is because you lot really are a great bunch, alot of you really know your stuff and my club/forum hardly post or give input to builds. The car is a 1997 daihatsu avanzato trxx r4. 660cc turbo and 4WD! I really got one aim for this year and thats to get over 120bhp. This is an old photo now but hey ho! Got a mate who welded the barbed fitting onto the magnesium rocker! Here is the oil catch tank set up. I got a hose going from the bottom of the tank to the underneath of the car to create a vacuum to suck all the crap out. Following spec so far HKS dx30 turbo. HKS dynographs show 126bhp at 1.2 bar. Although you can run more pressure. custom tubular manifold (not fitted yet) Front mount intercooler (its a wepr core ) starlet injectors apexi SAFC2 turbosmart FCD2 ghetto uprated engine mounts PCV delete on rocker cover, barbed fitting welded on in its place with a oil catch can AEM wideband Defi adance ZD (fake) engine monitor alloy radiator lower springs custom stainless 2" exhaust system with shotgun exhaust bolt on archs 13x7 extreme offset wheels. no idea if I will be running 175/50/13 or 225/45/13 tyres yet. Thats about all the stuff which matters! But this is the spec wihich will be happening over the next year! This should get the car to about 140bhp fingers crossed. I am going into untouched territory really. First person to push one of these over the 120ish BHP mark in the UK. Everyone from the top except the apexi SAFC2 and turbo smart FCD2 emanage blue with ignition harness, injector harness and 3 bar map sensor AEM water meth injection kit Intercooler spray kit custom inlet Thicker metal head gasket Uprated timing chain kit coilovers £1200 without postage from japan!!! Custom uprated front brakes. No idea who I am going to yet. Probably WMS. issue is I am running 13" wheels Braided brake lines uprated rear brake shoes strip the car out with two bucket seats and harness's all the ultra racing braces possibly areo parts if my pockets are deep enough to import it all from japan. One major issue I got at the moment is finding a mapper who will touch the car! Already asked a few companies (wont name any of them) who are unwilling to touch the car because its 660cc pushing that much power. Over this week I am replacing all the bolts in the engine bay with stainless steel units, wrinkle paint the rocker and do a few other little things.
-
I did the same on my daihatsu! Last bolt I needed to do was the oil feed banjo and the fucker snapped. My fault was chatting to a mate while tightening it up. Wasnt taking any notice and did it too tight. SNAP! I managed to get the rest of the bolt out of the block by hammering a Philips head screwdriver into it. Then turning.
-
How good really is emanage blue? Just found out that emanage blue works perfect in my Daihatsu and its even featured in the japanese instruction manual! I know emanage ultimate doesnt work for some reason. Been told you have to modify the ECU for it to work correctly which I find strange. Current set up is an apexi SAFC2, turbo smart FCD and uprated injectors. Would emanage blue with injector and ignition harness be much of an advantage? Scott.

I have heard some things about him and I am barely on the page now. Was some guy up yorkshire way which was selling duff engines as working units last year.

Abit of a necropost but this is too funny! I really do dislike TD, so do many others. Its an opinion. I have my reasons to dislike them and people have their reasons to love them. Everyone has different opinions. I know what your on about. Trying to get a refund makes out I was the bad party. Me and the seller sorted it out. We still get on fine so its all cool. Sure hope this isnt about me? As only trade via paypal and never gift. So both parties are protected. I never claim postage cost to northern and southern Ireland are the same. I charge whatever I am quite plus a few bob for posting and packaging. I always say it how it is. I dont bite my tongue. Its how I am in person as well. Just in person you find everyone takes everything with a pinch of salt and online loads of people throw their toys out of their pram. That build got scrapped for few reasons. Mainly rust and the shell being completely shagged. Got a starlet, stripped it, resprayed it, put most of it back together. Then bought another car. Fell in love with that car. Got bored of the starlet and broke it. Probably sitting in some scrapyard now.

It's sad mate but the new car is just too much fun. Even my misses is telling me not to break it
