This exposed the inners that showed mainly surface rust and small area needing some TLC near the rear arch where it meets the sill thankfully overall they are in decent condition so was repaired welded and treated ready to be rust proofed
-
Few updates to speak of still moving on just slowly
Firstly i wanted to inspect the inner sills so off came the outers im replacing these anyway even though they look perfect from the outside .....................
just goes to show things are not always what they seem can imagine theres a lot more like this without even knowing

Great updates il probably take a trip over to see this once running it's come a long way
-

Not going to lie, I'm missing this car. It has been sent away to the body shop for a full paint and restore, also the engine bay is getting widened to house the 7age motor and c164 box.
It will be at least 6 month, but I'm expecting it to be more like 18months.
Sounds awesome staying same colour I take it ?

I was surprised with how clean it is, there's one that's been for sale for months now with 29k miles seems clean too but its salmon pink lol and the guy wants 2k for it, I suppose there's still a lot of low mileage ones going for sale on facebook and autotrader still but a lot of them are automatics, useless for me but might be useful if its just a donor car for you, there was one with 70k miles or so for 800 last week when I bought this.
That's me just paid the guy for the crystal headlights too so next week or so I'll probably install them, I'm not looking forward to taking off the headlights though it was an absolute nightmare last year for me when it should've been so simple, didn't want to unhook itself
I had the headlight protectors off the pink one bet it's been for sale at least a year now tbh
I think with the headlights it's a case of deep breath and be brave one of mine came off really easy the other was a pig to get off

What a great find ! I looked at loads this past 12 months wanting one as a rust free donor car there just aren't any unless you pay big money
Really glad you decided to do a build thread again for me it's the best part of the forum
Looking forward to the updates

Recieved my aluminium power steering pot from RW developments last week.
Got it all fitted up with my roose silicone hoses and fresh power steering fluid.
Very happy with it, looks great in the bay compared to the standard one.
Also picked up some 98 spec glanza wing mirrors to replace my originals as one has been badly cracked since I got the car. They are a slightly different shape to the 96 ones and the glass is a little larger, but the plug is the same so they bolt straight on.
Pleased with them, they've also been repainted in 040 white so look well on the car.
Mirrors look great keep up the good work

Great progress on this one

If you look at the early pics in my build thread mine looked so good really low but on cheap springs worn shocks and 45 profile tires it was a terrible ride
Best of both worlds with the coilovers such a good route to go down turning into a nice little NA build keep us updated on here
-
Great buy can't wait to see these fitted congrats on the exams
-
So it's been I while since I updated this few bits worth a mention is I've managed to source some inner arches that are solid from a good friend on here this will save so much time rather than fabricating some the donor car clearly had been garaged most of its life one of the cleanest shells I've ever seen it was great fun cutting them out seeing how thin they are was an eye opener though
Also bought some parts I absolutely do not need but couldn't say no to some mint OEM wind deflectors with clips and not at over inflated prices
Thanks to both of you for helping out

Long spell with no progress and waiting for parts ect, but finally made abit more headway yesterday. Front upper cusco strutbrace on off of Chris bakers old car, not sure if he's on here as I bought it off Facebook so shoutout to Chris if he is on here.
Spare head bought off Reece Cummings in Bolton. Local lad who's turboed his on a budget, around £400 and its exactly the same colour as mine! My stem seals have gone hard so I'm going to rebuild this head and throw it on at sometime in the near future.
I've also got hold of a glanza rear spoiler. Unsure what to do with it as of yet. May have made a deal on some tubular corrola inlet manifolds and yellow injectors, great upgrades for an na but I will advertise them correctly once the deal is done and they're in hand.
Hope everyone's doing okay!
Great progress really need to update mine as it's moved along since last update

The end of this thread has come ☹️
The car was sold just under a month ago, I swapped it for a Yaris T Sport, a deal both me and the new owner was happy with.
I had done all I could to the car and I've grown tired of it and the scene in general so I thought it was time for a change. The car was a great servant to me and my friend who had it before me. Id been to several shows, met lots of really nice people and made the car a great example which I hope keeps going for many years to come.
I've still got the GLS but until the major job is sorted I wont be working on it much.
Maybe a new thread will start on it one day when its finally on the road! 😅
If anyone is interested in any parcel shelf clips or headlight clips I can sort you out a set, just message me on Instagram
@Kevcenko27
Cheers all the best 👍
