Thankyou for that mate, I've messaged the guy. If I can get a cd player in it I'll call that a happy medium. After all, a cd should have a cd, right? Maybe it's been taken out?

Oh that's cool was more to figure out what the CD button was for it will look ace hopefully the CD comes with the loom

I'll have a read through your threads and your profile mate. I'm keeping the tape deck for now and using a tape to aux converter lol😂. One thing that's always confused me is the fact it has a cd button, but when I press it nothing happens haha.

Can I see your oem tape deck I'm doing the same with the tape to aux thing I also have a original CD player that sounds so much better so I swap between them I love anything oem IMG_20210925_094310_824.thumb.jpg.7c8fa346bf7c99d05db855aab269f2ef.jpg

  4. Couldn't agree more, really glad I wasn't tempted to rep my SR when I was younger, anymore pics?

Thankyou mate. Coilovers and other suspension first. Different to all my friends in the car scene, most just want to be low and slow but it ain't my style. Also, not a big fan of reps at all, weather that be wheels or the full car lol😂

  5. Looks great this can't wait for the updates really like the subtle look on the NA rather than the glanza route

Claymores is a perfect example on how to do this and I'm glad your going down the same route

Hey Burty, wheel wise I find it hard choosing anything else other than the speedlines as they look so natural on there. Should hopefully get to meet at somepoint dude, Trav and I have talked about a visit at somepoint

Yeah would be great to see your glanza and get some photos with it when the SR is finished

  7. Body work update

The SR is finally making progress the outer  arches arnt bad at all its the inners that needed work and the sill ends so joe cut out the outers to expose the inners no suprise there is a decent amount of rust out came the grinder and started to patch it starting at the lower points near the sills after going at it with a screw driver it fell away... Fortunately the sills are in decent condition but they are coming off to protect the inners and do the appropriate repairs it's a big project and is gonna take some time  if anyone knows of some solid inners let me know if not Joe's gonna fabricate some new ones

Took a while to find one as these are now discontinued by Toyota. But unlike my one which had gone solid this is working as it should. Can't wait to get my 4wd back as I had to drop the prop out to protect the diff and transfer box from damage.

Well done on sourcing that I bet it was an absolute nightmare

I think you've already discovered the problems, when the screen tilts back it would contact the centre fascia above it in the upper din slot (possibly in the lower too). A 3d printed collar could space it out but wouldn't look great.

If mounted in the lower slot the screen may contact the gearstick when it comes out.

I'm sure you're aware but you can get a mechless, bluetooth enabled single din head unit for silly cheap nowadays if you don't care about brand names and I'm sure I've seen branded ones for less than a £100. Does everything you want without the hassle.

Still thinking about installing an old Sony mini disc head unit in mine from back in the day. Lol

I loved the mini disc platform I've still got loads the recorder is long gone though just a player left
