It is indeed, very good guess Burty!  I am the very proud owner of a canvas top starlet! She will be on her way to Scotland very soon! I'm absolutely buzzing about her, This will be my first proper project car that needs quite alot work doing.

Great purchase mate I did see this myself it needs a good scrub first what's the plans to keep original

  2. I used to a hell of a lot in the peak District I have a long travel hardtail made by dialled bikes they are a frame only option was built up with quality parts at the time life just slows things down I hope to get back on it soon always preferred the winter months out on it

    Thanks mate.

I'd already completed the suspension and brake upgrades so that part is sorted and a massive improvement over stock, to be honest the test drive on leaky shocks and poor quality mix match tyres almost put me off buying it!

I'll be keeping it N/A for the time being and enjoying the work I've already put into it. With the corolla manifold it should be at 85 bhp and in an 850kg car that puts it at 100bhp/tonne, warm hatch territory but I remember my mates 106 rallye was still a hoot at about the same power level.

Not sure on the future plans when funds allow. At least its kept me busy during lockdown.

How's the body work coming on yours?

Yeah I love mine it's nice to be able to use the full rev range and not be breaking the law sounds lovely with the tte back they really are so much fun

Body work on mine ,slow first off jr spray booth broke then lockdown 2 happened and had to furlough his staff do basically he's just cutting the rust away and has made some rear arches out of front wings I do have pics but want to out before and afters up

I've just been enjoying my Celica till it goes up for sale

Cheers, Hopefully you will find one soon.

I think your right Burty, I had a look on the optional extra page on here and it shows the glanza one having the circular design. I didn't know the uk ones existed untill I found mine in the back of a 5 door uk S model that was in a scrap yard and just knew it was a hidden optional extra, im sure I've since seen them listed as options in a uk Brouchure. There definitely super rare.

imagine how many just got scrapped with them in mate

I feel like she looks like a proper SR now, I'm not sure for definite what one is the Glanza one and what is the uk one, hopefully somebody can clarify?

I'd say the hard plastic is the UK version because we have one in the Yaris and it's got the same feel to the material

You’re too kind mate thank you very much, was a pleasure to meet you in the flesh and to have a good old natter about cars

Ah I see now. Not to easy to find one but still a lot more floating about here in compression with the c52/56. Did you have to modify the shifter cables to fit the selector arms on the other side of the box?

Yup it is the oem TRD diff from a mr2 spyder etc which is made for the bigger crown gear for future use. Do have a TRD one for the c56 gearbox if plans do not work out the way I see them.

@Trevstar Thanks. It is pretty clear where they are located I'll check them this week even though I'm 100% sure they have rust there as well. Will be sorted when the outer sill is replaced. Going to be a joy to work on for sure😟.

When my sills get cut open next month il post some pics up I'm in same boat my outers are gone full length inside but only look like it's first 6 inch from the outside , I've no doubts inners will want some attention aswell

  9. Update ...work on the SR was put back a little as the bodyshop decided they didn't want to be doing bits then leaving it  a while so instead they are doing everything in one hit pics will be coming very very shortly can't wait to have it back so in mean time I've bought an old OEM head unit in mint condition with cassette player reason behind this is so I can listen to music on my phone  via a cassette aux cable with a 3.5mm jack older members will remember them well plan is to remove the din blanking plate and mount it below the Toyota  cd player and somehow wire them together via a double loom
