Well mine are turning into an absolute nightmare! i was messing with them all afternoon yesterday and ive got rained off now. i just cant get the mdf rings mounted in the right place so that the speaker doesnt hit the door frame, and fits inside the pod properly. Ive about had enough tbh. Iive had to chop the fuck out of the speaker pods, hammer the door frame back and cut some bits out of it aswel. i think my speakers are just to big. ;) Those look great muddyell! very well made.

Im just going to bolt the mdf spacer rings to the metal door frame mate, ozmale from the au starlet forum sent me these pics of how he mounted his, he actually mounted 6 inch speakers in the doors instead of 130mm that i will be doing. Ive got a box of dynamat xtreme to cover both the doors so i will be putting that on aswell, got it from ebay.com saved about £25. Just waiting on the mdf rings to come now (also off ebay) i didnt realise how heavy the stuff was! :-( i havent decided where im going to mount the tweeters yet. theres different fixings with them, i think i like the look of the45 degree angle mount.

i will probably get both done, depending on how you get on with yours.

i think i should have mine all sorted this week just waiting on some mdf rings. i will get pics up when finished.

Hmmm. Every time i attempt something on the car it aways turns out to be miles more complicated that it first looked. Oh yeah and if anyones starlet has a slightly unfresh smell ;) , check the mankey carboard door cards mine were a bit damp in the corner where the speaker will go (hopefully) and a bit mouldy so im leaving them by the radiator over night. Im deciding wether i will try and recover the door card fabric with the material off the evo8 interior i have in the loft to match my recaros, when i get them fitted, while the door cards are out

I dont supose anyone who has the speaker pods knows how the bracket the bolts to the door frame, which holes it fits onto do they? heres a pic of the door frame.

I used a dremel tool thing to task the top lip off as the contre console on my GT, it wouldnt got over the edge of my cd player. i put a pocket underneath the cd player i bought off ebay, its not perfect but better then a big whole in the dash.

does anyone else think its been split up too much?? takes ages to read through it all now.

Was just looking through some threads and saw this. The engine management light hasnt came back on for ages now, but it does still fuel cut if i floor it. i bought a jam fcc to replace the hks fcd but i think im just going to get an apexi power fc and get it mapped.

LOL ive been working on my citroen ax gti today thats punishment i recon. this just slipped my mind i wasnt even doing anything! i think we should get another meet sorted for the new year how about january the 12 or 13th?

LOL anyway, i got mine from this guy he sent me a fedex tracking number straight away so i could track it at every point. it took about 6 days to arrrive.

i did (still have) but toyota have said it doesnt look like they are able to get any, they said they would leave them on order just incase but it looks like there deffiently not available, im gutted. got an awesome set of brand new alpine type x comonents doing nothing.
