Same here, I don't usually like silver cars either, I hate silver EP91's but somehow silver quadlamp GT's look good.
-
Any updates on this? Anymore pics?

I had a look on pistonheads this morning to see what's about... fuck me there's just as many sheds as there are minters. Shopping lists down the doors, halfords stuff, spray painted interiors (I mean the whole fucking interior not just bits and pieces), fucking waste of perfectly good cars, everyone has their own tastes and that's fine but for fuck sake it's obvious when something is just shit.

This pic makes me really want a silver GT: I can't fucking wait 'til next year...

Anyone Explain This? Engine Starting Problem
ste91 replied to ste91's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
The thing is, the engine starts and runs like it always has done, it was just that one time last night it didn't start, really can't understand why it happened unless it's something just starting to wear. -

Everything apart from the fuel filter was changed less than 10k miles ago. I might take it all off and check it over though, as deposits do build up on the dizzy cap and maybe clean the spark plugs off. -

It hasn't been too long since the last service, the only thing that hasn't been changed is the fuel filter but it hasn't given me any trouble before, this was just some one off mis-hap. -
Yeah it pisses me off aswell not having any money, I really want a road legal trackday car so I can go to track days, the stupid thing is if you look at the bigger picture it's not really asking for that much in comparison to some people who go round saying stupid things like "I wish I had a Ferrari" or whatever... it's a twenty year old car with a little 1.3 liter engine based on an economy hatchback with front wheel drive. But it's enough to have some good fun in, atleast for now.

What I'd be looking forward to with the GT is the big lump of cash you get once you sell the N/A. It could buy you a few goodies or put it away and be safe knowing you've got a large portion of the insurance money already spoken for.
-
Well my plan with the N/A now is go for only handling mods maybe exhaust manifold but whatever, I know with handling mods I'll be able to either stick them straight on the GT or sell them along with other commonly sought after parts i.e. corolla inlet manifold. With your mods... The wheels you could wait til you get the GT then decide which you prefer the ones that come with it or those ones, then you have a choice of wheels, or put the old biscuit tin wheels on the N/A and sell the spare alloys or keep as a winter set. Rays nuts you could use those TRD leads you could use those aswell Re

Anyone else got any ideas? I don't want to go out for a drive somewhere and then have it conk out on me so I want to be sure it was just a one-off problem and not something that's going to come back. -

The plugs were changed around 10k miles ago (NGK Iridiums) but I have been giving it a good thrashing lately, is it worth taking the plugs out and checking them and maybe cleaning them up? -

My car has always started first time every time, no problem at all. The engine starts the instant you turn the key. But last night about 3 AM I got bored so decided to go for a drive, turned the key, held it for a couple of seconds, could hear it trying to start but it just wouldn't. Tried again, held it for a good few seconds this time and still nothing. It was late and I didn't want to fuck around outside making noise so I thought fuck it and went back in... now I've just gone out and this morning to try it again, first of all the same thing happened, but then I gave it a bit of throttle -
I'm gonna be in the same situation next year I'll be 19 with 2 years NCB etc etc... I dunno about you but I've already been scouring the internet looking on all the Starlet shops looking at what parts I want to buy when I get a turbo'd Starlet. I've decided the best thing to do is just buy a GT for now, a conversion is a fair bit of work and it's just not practical for me at the moment as I don't have a garage or driveway and can't exactly leave a half built car out on the street lol... plus the insurance should be cheaper on a GT not to mention quadlamp GT's look mean as fuck! The N/A Sta

Last question for now as I don't want to go into it to much because it's atleast 12-14 months before I get a GT, but which of the mods I posted above would I be able to do straight away without the problem of boost creep and fuel cut? I know the actuator needs to be set to 12psi (somewhere around 0.8 bar?) to avoid fuel cut. If I was to port the wastegaste first before anything else would this mean I could stop worrying about boost creep, and just do whatever mods and run it at 12psi?
-
Cheers, that's the sort of reply that I was looking for, so I suppose I'd have to go for a hybrid turbo for 190-200 then? What about going for some different mods aswell as just the "bolt ons" like port & polish the head for example? I know there are a few people on here with good power figures on CT9's @ 1 bar, but ideally I want a reliable 180 bhp rather than a struggled 190-200. Oh that'll do then, that's just down the road.
-
Another thing is how would I get there before getting it mapped? Fit all the parts then just drive there but take it easy?
-
do it
-
So Emanage Blue then I suppose... What about getting it setup though, I haven't heard of any places local to me that do it.
-
No I don't have a GT/Glanza... well not yet anyway but I will most probably have a GT next year so I want to work a few things out. What else would be needed to run 180-190 bhp at 1 bar and would this setup get somewhere near it: Full service/oil change Full Exhaust System (whatever's good value for money) Exhaust Manifold (probably something like Zisco ram style) Decat Air Filter relocated to front FMIC (probably a HDi one or similar) HKS Actuator or similar Standalone ECU, Blitz or similar And of course a boost gauge and a BOV So what else needs to be done? Ported wastegate? EBC?
-
old as fuck but still funny fuckin stupid ass american kids
-
There's only one GT and one Glanza local to me that I know of, a few N/As but most had old women behind the wheel.

Get some pics of the car/alloys.
