Who needs VTEC when there's VVTL-i?

    Boredom!

    I'd rather have a 4AGE 20v or a 2ZZGE if I was going for a high revving N/A engine.
  3. I'm gonna be asking the same question next year, it's a hard choice though, I think quadlamp GT's look mean as fuck but then I've always preferred EP91's. On the engine side of things you've got all the hard work of the swap whereas with a GT it's less work. Insurance costs would be my main concern.
  4. I don't know, but it sounds like a good excuse for a decat to me.
  5. I remember we had a hire car YEARS ago I think it was a Proton or something lol and the cat smelled like egg.
  6. The 4AGZE (supercharged) is well suited for boost. So yeah you're right it's not a standard Toyota engine, it's got a turbo instead. Another possibility is a 20v head.
  7. haha lexus dials look like some sort of expensive watch
  8. I use 195/45/15. Although 195/50/15s are also popular, but I definately wouldn't bother with 195/55/15s.
  9. The other thing it was good for was it was loud as fuck when I revved it under there. Improvised tunnel.
  10. Yeah they actually fit quite well I went as close as I could to the side (wing mirror folded in) but then realised there's actually a fair bit of space on the passenger side... I think a slim passenger might be able to squeeze out of the door lol.
  11. Bit of fun... I'd seen this done before and thought it was quite funny: Couldn't get all the way in though as there were still some trolleys in it
  12. Should have done it to a Capri.
  13. If you're on a low budget and handy with tools it might be possible to make your own strut braces. After all it's just a bar with some holes in either end.
  14. My T1-S have done quiet well, they've been battered and thrashed, and still strong as always. I learnt to drive with them on the car so hit the curb a couple of times and things like that and I can't fault them, I think I'm going to try the T1-Rs.
  15. Nice work on the calipers that's a huge difference. Fancy doing mine and my rusty drums
  16. It's the same story on my N/A in the wet. When they were newish and plenty of tread they gripped quite well but now they've worn down a bit it just spins like fuck in first gear and is bad on corners if you try to put any power down. I can't imagine how bad it must be on a turbo Starlet if it's this bad on a little non turbo Starlet that doesn't even have 100bhp. Don't get me wrong they've been absolutely great tyres it's just now they're worn they really aren't performing like they did when they were new.
  17. fucking best engine bay I've ever seen! I'd be scared to drive it though incase it got dirty
  18. Another turbo 4wd build I'd love to have a go in one of these, I bet a fully sorted one would be quick as fuck round a track
  19. I was going down Stone hill I think the road is called (white Starlet) and you were going up it. Is it anyone on here?
  20. mixed opinions... always confusing kevin - what tyres did you have before the TR1s?
  21. I currently have Toyo Proxes T1-S on my car at the moment, but the front tyres are quite worn so it wont be long before I need to replace them. I'm happy with the Proxes and think they're quite good but I haven't tried any other tyres so I can't really compare them. So I was going to play it safe and go with "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and just get the same tyres again but as some people know, T1-R has replaced the T1-S. Has anyone tried both tyres and could tell me what the differences in wet/dry grip are? The tread pattern is quite different especially round the edges... so there's
  22. I'd definately recommend sorting the handling, 160bhp is "easily" achievable.
