Yeah this is his 3rd skyline, all of them dailys! He's got a GTI-R that he's been building for the last few years that's going to be quite mental....if it ever gets finished lol

Thanks mate, The GTR has been upped to 430bhp, don't know what mine is actually putting out yet but I don't think it'll be far off that sort of figure, thing is though my car us around 300kg lighter. Il have to see if I can convince him to take it on the 1/4 mile but it is his daily run around so probably won't want to break it lol!

New coilovers arrived today, went with the MeisterR Zeta's in the end, they'll be on at some point this month lol

Got some Evo 5 rear lights, they make it look younger imho Before: After:

Went to a RWYB at Santa Pod today, first time I've taken the Evo on the strip, father inlaw came to in his Impreza Turbo 2000, first time he's ever been and last time I went was 5 years ago in the old ST205! Managed to get 10 runs in as it wasn't overly busy considering the weather was nice - re:hot! First run was just a test run as I've not had the car flat out in the higher gears since it had the new actuator and remap, so let it roll a few feet and then floored it, result 14.16 @ 104mph but still left the Audi A3 2.0 TDI for dead in the other lane The next 5 runs were high to mid 13's as I started to try to launch it but was getting nowhere with bogging down mostly (I knew i'd be a bit rusty at launching but didn't think i'd be this bad!) After the lunch break I decided to break out the secret weapon, launch control never really used this properely before but had to do something to improve! And it worked! 12.85 @ 110mph! Still got a bit of bogging but nowhere near as much,it was just a question of not lighting up the rear tyres now! The following run was an even better start but missed 3rd gear which cost me a couple of tenths. Penultimate run was the best start of the day but I had to change up into 5th before the line else I would of been bouncing off the limiter! The last run was quickest of the day, 12.75 @ 108, not quite as quick off the line as the previous run but because of this I could just get away with almost maxing out in 4th over the line, was on 7.5k rpm, redlines at 7k and have no idea where the limiter is but wasn't going to push my luck too much. The guy in the yellow Mustang GT500 Supercharger looked a bit bemused as an 18 year old Mitsubishi was running side by side down the strip on the last run! He beat me over the line by half a car length, not bad considering he had twice the capacity, twice the cylinders, considerable more power and drag slicks on the back! Heres the timing slip and matey boy's 'stang lol I do have an onboard video too but no matter what I try I can't get it to upload! We are looking at going again towards the end of the year, the heat was sapping performance but at least the track was sticky! And im going to be checking what gearbox I actually have as it seems ever so short ratio'd, 110mph redline in 4th? Maybe its an RS 'box....heres hoping!

Biggest thing on an Evo is rust, get a clean one and your laughing. They are pretty reliable but its when you start upping the power that things break, service costs aren't major expensive its just that they are quite frequent. A standard-ish one isn't that bad on fuel, 25mpg mixed driving is what I got from old 6. The one I have now guzzels the stuff but its far from standard! An Evo will do everything you ask of it and some. The grip and acceleration is pretty phenonemal, tbh theres not much in the real world that would keep up with one as a point to point car. A GT-Four is a good shout but theres no comparison between an Evo and a GT-Four imho, the Celica is a great car but not a patch on a Evo.

Just got the car back from having it's few little tweeks done..... ......it's f**king rapid now!! It's had an uprated turbosmart actuator, new 3 port boost solenoid and a remap. I don't know the actually figure it's putting out as it was road mapped but Mat at MG Autos (guy who mapped it) said it should easily be into the 400's. I've been having a few issues loosing power up the rev range but now it's solid all the way to the redline, got to be very quick on the gears now lol! Whilst it was in having the work done they have the car a thorough inspection and the knocking noise that I mentioned earlier in the thread has been pin pointed to the rear coilovers and not the rear diff as previously suggested. So bad news more money needs spending but good news that I can get some shiny new suspension. Few pics from today at Parson Drove show some "action" shots Evopug lol It was wet on the trip there and had a bit of a "moment" coming off a roundabout and sticking the boot down in 2nd gear, the car went sideways, first time its ever gone that far round anyway. Apparently it looked quite cool from inside the Clio lol! I need to be more awake with this thing now Double checked the read out on the Gizzmo controller and I'd hit 2.08bar boost! Spoke to my mapper when I got home and he said that the car actually holds solid at 1.9bar, he had come across this whilst mapping and has said that the controller does slightly overread and its nothing to worry about. Next thing on the list is a trip to Santa Pod on the 9th August for a RWYB to see what this can really do
-
Well I've bitten the bullet and booked it in for the upgrades so will see what happens lol! Yeah it is a fun car, acceleration is brutal
-
It's already running an 8 actuator but because I'm putting out 2 bar boost it's struggling!
-
A few pics from todays Thoresby show I've also been in touch with MG Autos about the boost dropping off and they've recommended an uprated actuator, run the 3 port boost solenoid off the ecu rather than the ebc and a remap, should hopefully break over the 400bhp barrier with that, 420 has been suggested Might need some more numbers on this then!

Got a few of the stand, didn't really see anyone there to chat to though! Who's was this one? Looked a bit of a weapon

Il be there but im with the Celica Club....with an Evo....yeah makes sense to me aswell lol!
-
Yep but to be fair my 4 decimates my old 6 ;)

Looks great in white. I had a 6 before I got my 4, quite a few of us seem to be on the mlr lol!

I've been fishing for nearly 25 years now! Don't go as much as I used to but I do pretty much any sort if fishing, bream in the feeder and lure fishing for pike are my favourites though. Also dabble in sea fishing occasionally and big game when abroad in holidays
-
I had a V5 Type RA and it was immense fun on the back roads but missed having an Evo too much lol! RA or Type R would be my choice of classic scoob

latest run around Evo 4 dead already

I would also change the bottom crank pulley (unless it looks new) as the rubber has a habit of breaking down, might aswell while the engine is out. -

Will the 4 ecu run the 6 engine? I'm not sure it can.... -
