  1. Cool, would just be false economy to rebuild a 4 engine imho
  2. I would see if you can get a later engine to go in if its going to be swapped.
  3. Looks smart in white mate. I've had mine just over a year now and love it.
  4. Not too bad really but then I don't use it daily. I usually see around 18mpg on mixed driving, if I give it the full beans it goes into single figures lol Trackday worked out at around 4mpg. Oil change every few months and AYC fluid 6-12 months, it would cost a fortune to use it every day.
  5. Got round to fitting a front strut brace....finally Best get some elbow grease on the rest of the 'bay now!
  6. Very nice, similar power to my Evo. 400bhp is great for road use
  7. K11 Micra 1.0 Si EP82 GT Turbo Rev1 SW20 MR2 Turbo ST205 GT-Four (TSS car) ST205 GT-Four (road car) Evo 6 GSR Impreza WRX STi Type RA V5 Ltd Evo 4 GSR - current car (400bhp) Peugeot 306 GTi-6 - track car, own 1/4 of it!
  8. I've got a tracker on the Evo. Even if I jack the car up without the key in the ignition they're straight on the phone to me. It was already fitted when I got the car and costs £150 a year for subscription but it did save over £200 on insurance plus its good peace of mind to have.
  9. As some of you may know myself, father inlaw and both brother inlaw's were looking for a car that we could go in on for some track action. We having been looking at alot of different things that would fit the bill, and was quite set on a Prelude 2.2 VTEC but trying to find a half decent one in budget and not a million miles away was proving tricky. And then, after trawling through ebay we found a car that we'd all forgot about but it seemed perfect for what we want, in budget and best of all it was literally 2 streets away!! So we went round this evening and bagged ourselves a Peugeot 306
  10. Car should be going in for MOT next Saturday all being well. Renewed insurance but not with Greenlight, Pace Ward can do an identical policy with an extra 1000 mile limit for £200 less so gone with them this time. Boring stuff out the way! Now onto a new mod! I sent a replacement arm rest lid of to a chap on the Celica Club to be flocked as my old one had snapped the hinge and the replacement was abit grubby so thought "flock it" lol! Original lid: After Ant had worked his magic on the other lid: And all fitted (10/10 to Mitsubishi for the hinge design on these,a right git to get to the s
  11. An Evo 4 would be in budget, infact there was one on the MLR for £3800 I think it was with a 6 engine in it, weak point on the 4 is the original engine. Massively practical and quick, just make sure you keep a few pennies spare, servicing and fuel bills are high. Although my old standard 6 could do 25mpg with mixed driving, the 4 I have now struggles to do 18mpg.....even if I don't tickle the throttle
  12. I was going to suggest an Evo but your age and budget will probably be against you.
  13. If your taking passengers out in the car regulary then why not look for something like an Impreza? Alot more practical for rear seat passengers.
  14. You'd want an AFF extinguisher (foam) I got mine from JJC Rallying on ebay
  15. Evo 9 rims are wide too, you'll probably have to do some arch work. Early Evo's (1-3) are 4 stud
  16. 215's sold, 205's awaiting pickup. If it falls through il let you know but I won't do £60 posted.
  17. I would recommend going into the Toyota Sprint Series if you get chance, I did a few rounds last year and it was great fun!
  18. Cheers and yeah they certainly know their stuff with these cars!
  19. Small update: Got a set of Toyo T1R's fitted the other week to replace the Yokohama's,still need to scrub them in a bit more as a little bit slidey when 2bar of boost hits them Car is off to MG Auto's tomorrow for 45,000mile service, underseal refresh and should have the banging on the back end sorted. Had a look whilst putting the new tyres on and pretty certain the moustache bar bushes have had it. Also I've been on the look out for some spare wheels for track use and after missing out on a few sets I managed to bag a bargain! A set of 5 standard Evo 5 rims for £50 Tyres are
  20. Car shouldn't have pulled across, either through not seeing the bike or miss judging its speed, however... ....a bike doing near on 100mph on a 60mph road is asking for trouble, how people can say the bike isn't at fault as well is beyond me. He was obviously an experienced rider and whilst doing that sort of speed should be looking as far up the road as possible but he showed no signs of backing off coming up to that junction. It is a terribly sad story and hopefully lots of people can learn from it, both drivers and riders.
  21. Thanks mate, around 350bhp @1.4bar and 396bhp/390lbft @ 1.94bar. Couple of reason's for the 80 series: 1. Its a straight fit 2. It flows enough to make just over 400bhp 3. Its very fast spooling, car is for fast road use and when I take it to track days im normally on tighter more technical circuits so response is key. 4. It was already fitted when I got the car Next turbo upgrade (if I decide to go for more power) would probably be an S205 but tbh most of the Evo guys say 400/400 is ideal for road use.
