  1. Year: 1998 Model: Subaru Impreza WRX STI Type RA Version 5 Limited Tax: May 2014 MOT: November 2014 Mileage: 90,000 Description: My STI RA is up for sale, I've only had it a few months but want to get back in an Evo! Its a V5 STI Type RA Limited, no. 17/1000 3 months tax and 9 months MOT Clock shows just over 90k but don't know when it was converted to miles. The RA Impreza's are a lighter more driver focused car compared to a "normal" STI, it features the following: Less sound deading Thinner glass Aluminium body panels Quick steering rack Close ratio gearbox Driver controlled centre diff No ABS Roof vent As this is a Limited version it also has electric windows and mirrors. The engine was rebuilt by Neil at Slowboy Racing using a version 8 short engine and refurbed version 5 heads, the aircon was also removed. The DCCD was refurbished and the gearbox and rear diff were both serviced. He also fitted a low mileage VF28, new MAF sensor, front disks and pads, rear pads and fresh brake fluid. The car is running on VR1 10-60 Racing oil and only gets either V-power or Tesco 99 fuel. All this was done at 88,650 so its only done around 1500 miles since rebuild. There is also Japanese service history aswell as a UK service book with stamps. There are a couple of small issues with the car. One of the front suspension top mounts is knocking slightly but il be replacing these this week all being well. Theres some marks on the body, the car has had wind deflectors fitted at some point and these have marked the paint where they've been removed, theres also a very small amount of surface rust on the rear n/s arch (not bad but wants sorting). Normal age related marks as to be expected on a car of this age. The fuel flap doesn't open without being pulled while the lever inside the car is held up, its the little release spring which is missing, im currently trying to source one! All in all its a very nice, unmolested example of a STI Type RA, the only modification being an Afterburner cat back exhaust which isn't too loud either. It drives very well and pulls strongly through all the gears. I would also include in the sale the following: A Hayward & Scott decat downpipe Set of clear front and side indicators Price: SOLD Pictures: Plenty more pictures available on request Contact Details: On the thread or via PM
  2. Yep, that bar wasn't a flimsy strut brace, it was nearly 2" diameter!! I would never advise anyone to fit a harness to a strut brace.
  3. I had a bar welded to the rear turrets on my Celica trackcar,
  4. Im after another Evo,just need to shift my RA scoob first! Got any pics of the engine bay and underside mate??
  5. stock injectors will be maxed out at that level, most people put 850's in at that level
  6. If its got a hybrid then I would put in 850cc injectors, 225l/ph pump and a good mappable ecu, that should see you around 320-330. I've only seen a handful of st205's put out more than 300bhp without some form of ecu upgrade.
  7. What sort of power are you aiming for? Charge cooler is good for 400bhp, only reason I went FMIC at 310bhp was because it was spending most of its time on track.
  8. ermmm, white....I think!! Sure it had a white graphic going down the passenger side of the windscreen.

    st205 twin pots?

The ST205 2 pots are the rears on the Celica, the fronts are 4 pots. I sold a complete set for about £150 when I broke my 205 for parts. If you after a pair of st205 brakes then let me know as im still on the Celica clubs and should be able to get some at a decent price.
  10. You followed me out of the car park today around 4pm, I was in the blue Impreza in front of you
  11. Lambda sensor is another possibility
  12. My father inlaw had a 2.0 V6 GR (non MIVEC) with a manual box and it was fantastic on fuel, sounded good and not as slow as people make out.
  13. That one did look very nice when I went down there on Saturday! Hurst Cars has a very good rep in the Subaru circles. Im picking up the type RA off him next week, tbh when I took it out for a test drive it felt quicker than my Evo 6 did. I don't think you'd be disappointed with a Type R mate and it has DCCD so can have some serious fun in the bends
  14. Yeah I know what you mean mate, thats why I went for this one as its got the later engine in it which has been rebuilt by a scooby specialist. The Scoob actually felt quicker than my Evo did but being an STI RA it should do I suppose! Il be keeping a high level maintenance on the car though, guy who runs the garage down the road rallies them, brother inlaw has had them for a few years and im not far from a few specialists so if anything crops up that I can't do myself then should be in good hands
  15. The one I've bought has a rebuilt version 8 engine in it so fingers crossed it'll be ok
  16. The Evo was great apart from some kind sole had covered up the rotten back end with underseal! I've just got back from putting a deposit down on an Impreza WRX Type RA STi Version 5 Limited, good job the badge on the back only says Type RA lol!
  17. I started off with a K11 Micra at 18 then moved onto an EP82 then came a Rev1 GT Turbo T-Bar MR2, this had a flamethrower for an exhaust The MR2 wasn't the best example ever so moved onto a GT4, this was a virtually standard car when I got it in December 2007 and slowly evolved into a 300+bhp A2 Pro class Toyota Sprint Series car, I also got another ST205 whilst I still had the silver one I broke the track car and sold the green to then buy an Evo 6 GSR I've since sold the Evo and am going to view a new car tomorrow
  18. TCB will quickly become your friend with a faff
  19. Spotted a black quad light parked in the Range car park in Lincoln today, around 1pm. Had a front mount and possibly recaro type seats. I was in the blue Fiesta pretty much parked infront!!
