  1. You'll be lucky if it starts your engine and doesnt cut out. Most starlet looms are made to run with that exact ecu. Im running 5efe and am using the 4efe ecu. I have a 5efe ecu and plugged it in, and the car started and cut out. This was due to incompatibility with the loom and the immobiliser. There is a solution but I didnt decide to pursue it. I have other plans so it does not matter which ecu I have in her About this unleashing of power, the only way you would find out for sure is a before and after dyno or rr run. Is it worth it just for a few ponies? Joz
  2. Well done Idrees mate. You must be pretty proud. Join the DD science club haha All the best with your future mate, it looks yellow lmao p.s any news on that part Joz
  3. Glad we heard the 'real' story from the Mack himself. I think what you are doing with the site is totally justified and will make the tgtt site more exclusive and raise the overall quality. Like you said, its a great archive of information and will still be available to everybody, in recent times there has been a declining quality on posts posted but hopefully this new venture/facelift will sort that. I've always tried to post best I can anyway on tgtt with useful information of my own experiences. The payment scheme is more of a goodwill gesture in my opinion very similar to the previous donation scheme you had, giving paying members a few exclusive priviliedges and also a chance to give a little something back to the site, not for profit, but for the continual running of the site. It wasnt intended as a 'pay to post' scheme at all. Its such a small price to pay to access and be able to voice your mind on such a great site, dont forget its our cars and our enthusiasm for them that brought us to the dance. Chilling out and talking about what you did yesterday at work is great, but please keep up the standard of information and progress of our scene (the starlets) at the same time. UKSC will be evolving soon and there will be a members scheme, what will you guys say then?? I certainly will pay, even if I wasnt on the moderating team which Im proud to be a part of. Please give both sites time and a chance during these transitional times and you shall all be rewarded tenfold. It is not for the benefit of us but for the benefit of everybody involved. All the best with it tgtt team. Regards Joz
  4. Have a good one James. Large it up Joz
  5. Of course I get a rush mate But with the n/a or any n/a really, you have to push it to its limits before you can benefit from its fruits. As with the glanza its probably effortless to get off to a flying start. Joz
  6. Glad you enjoyed your first drive in your new baby Keirz. You deserve it man after the long wait. As for n/a owners saving up for... bah Joz
  7. Please keep the bad language down guys as it can easily affect other members, by all means please continue to air your own personal opinions as there are a lot of good points being raised on the matter but please be more civil. Thanks. Joz UKSC Moderating Team
  8. Its a private joke Tommy. They are pretty smart. Joz

  12. Bet that 'Yup' wasnt very helpful Barney lol. More constructive posting please Idrees. Even you were a noob once so please help others if you can help them with advice. The rolla manifold is a good improvement over the standard manifold found on your starlet which I bet feels empty at times acceleration wise. It improves throttle response slightly and will increase your acceleration capability well also. It does not promote top end power, it improves the low and midrange torque. It produces a nice induction sound at higher revs. You can achieve higher revs more easily if you so wish (reaching the limiter) It is quite easy to install yourself rather than paying £££ for a garage to do it. It can be rebored along with a matching rebored throttlebody for more airflow. Use your old 4efe throttlebody with it (has the sensors for your car), so if you buy it in the scrapyard you do not need the throttlebody on it if it has one (maybe keep for spares) Expect to pay around the £50 mark, they can be gotten cheaper if you hunt around but don't feel hard done by if you pay £50 notes. It is one of the most worthwhile stage 1 mods you can do to your n/a starlet at little expense and will make your car more drivable and fun. If used with the standard airbox I highly recommend a k&n panel filter upgrade over the standard paper one. Please search the site for more info as this is a topic that has been covered many times before Hope this helps Barney. Joz
  13. Happy Birthday Shells. Will have to call you ah sum now, not jer jer Joz

  15. I did phone a few breakers a while back Meech but no luck. I guess I could source one if I really needed but I got other things going on. It would certainly be worth a try anyway later... Could get much tastier stuff for the price of a G6 gearbox Joz
  16. A few gt and glanza owners use the 6 speed gearbox but havent really said much about them. Let us know how u get on, hopefully your acceleration will be improved and you will get up to speed slightly quicker at the expense of lower top end speed. The final drive will also be longer, the first and second gears will be near the same as the 4efe gearbox. The 6th gear is realistically used for the motorway and long stretches where u are up to speed. I will find the gear ratios and post them here later. Good on you for getting it, hopefully it will benefit you. Joz
  17. Welcome to UKSC Luke. Look forward to seeing pics and specs of your Glanza soon. Joz

  21. Cheers for your compliments Zippee, if you are at JAE 2008 you shall see it in the flesh, be sure to camp at the UKSC stand where you will be more than welcome. By that time Im sure your EP will have evolved a few stages to how you want it to be. All the best with your project, keep the faith and you shall be rewarded. I look forward to seeing it. Any advice you need, dont be afraid to ask. My work is still not done with it, expect something out of the top draw Joz
