No worries people, all sorted, found the boost gauge had been wired in with no tape around the conections + sparky = no more fuse

Bumpy bump

He has removed the rear wiper last night but i can see how that has affected it, he hasnt cut any wires just unplugged them

I know this is an old post but i didnt want to start a new one, Ive just fitted a fcd to a friends gt and now have the same problem, ive checked my wiring and solder joints but cant see anthing touching, when i fit a new fuse it doesnt blow straight away, its ok for 5mins then blows any ideas?

The 'dumpvalve' that you mean is the wastegate itself, thats the part that controls the boost, it will open when the set pressure is reached, this is a seperate thing from the dumpvalve altogther. Jack

when i had my glow boot i cleaned all the stuff off and marked out the gt then painted thebackground black and left the word gt clear, then changed the bulbs for coloured LEDs

well, i wont be going for 300bhp lol, will only have stock internals, but i will fit them if they make a good difference, just means ive got the task of shimming them Where can i get shims from if i need them? toyota? Jack

I have a set of crower cams that i got to put in my fully blown 5e, but the plan has changed and im just going with 4e td04, so is there any point of putting the cams in a fairly standard 4e? The specs of the cams are pretty much the same as the 265 speedvision cams The spec of the engine will be, dta standalone,wepr td04 kit, rebuild engine (standard spec), half core ally rad, 2.5" exhaust, apexi air filter, poss port+polish. Also if i do fit the cams, are the standard 4efte valve springs ok? im not looking to go past the standard rev limit. Thanks Jack

Ive got a mates gt to sort out a few bits, but im stuck on a coolant problem, The coolant was coming out of the expansion bottle so he changed the headgasket, its not losing water now, but the top rad hose is getting very hard with pressure and the bottom hose isnt getting hot, ive checked the thremosat and that works fine, its had the spare rad from my glanza so thats ok and not blocked. Maybe a blockage somewhere? Anyone got an idea as to where i go now? Jack

I had a fujitsubo Legalis R, and mine was most deffinitely mild steel centre, the back box was stainless, mine was rotten from front to back. If its the same as mine, is the back box big? not like a hi power etc. Jack

any car is only worth what you want to pay for it. If you happy paying that for it then get, it looks clean enough, and its not been played with. Jack

starletsportif, you should of said i could of got you pads and shoes for much less. ail legend, it will be drums on the rear of your uk spec na, however shoes dont normally wear all that fast, so it might be worth having a look before ordering new shoes. Jack

Theres a vf35 for sale on scooby net now, but cant afford anything at the mo are they the standard 3 hold flange? is the exhaust flange the same as a td04? Jack

Which ihi turbo would people go for when trying for 300bhp+ on a 5e? Bearing in mind that i already have a td04 mani which i want o use, so twin scroll prob wont work. Jack

What other turbos will fit the 3 hole flange that the td turbos use? Im after another turbo for my 5e build, but want to use my td04 mani without changing the flange. Jack

The kid who i got my glanza from has just got a gt for 1200, only needed an oil feed and a wing mirror glass. Its even got a roll cage and a sunroof, so there are some cheap ones out there. I love my sportif turbo convertion, but i'd never swap it for the glanza. Jack

You could prob get a helicoil kit from your local tool shop, ive used them at work before, they werent as expensive as the ones above and its a 5 minute job to do yourself, just read the instructions. But as its an important part that you dont want to leak or break without you knowing i'd prob get a replacment part. Jack
