Lot's of blokes who own Evo's can't drive for toffee, infact, lot's of people who go to track days can't drive for toffee. I'd put me driving my ~ 180hp Starlet against most other cars at track days, it will only be the well driven cars that come past.
-
No worries bud! There needs to be more ;) Get a move on with yours!
-
Sounds like you got off lightly! I was really worried about the hoses I made up, in the end I had them pressure tested at my local hydraulics place for peace of mind.
-
Not me I know my way around Donington quite well!

I'm restricted to weekends for track days at the minute, that might change. But for the time being my options are limited, luckily a couple of friends are doing this day as well so I wont be there on my own this time. Shame it's Blyton again, but it's a decent circuit and very local too.
-
I've got a set of Enkei's that are collecting dust, I'm local too. They look like that ^^^ minus the Toyota centre caps. Probably want around £150 for them, they don't have tyres.
-
Booked onto this now..

The new ones are for the Advance gauges which aren't compatible with the old link series stuff as far as I'm aware. Your only option is to find one second hand, the non-advance stuff is pretty old now, you'd struggle to find one new. Could you have your repaired?
-
100 is about optimal really.. Save your money, or spend it elsewhere. If you start doing track days, not just the odd track session then I would look into fitting an oil cooler, but if it's used on the road it will need to have a thermostat fitted somewhere.
-
If you aren't experiencing high oil temps then don't bother.. I struggled to get heat into mine even on track, if all you're using it for is road driving you don't need one.
-
Don't bother, build something usable

Electronic boost controller not boosting above 0.4
TimD replied to Ollieh17's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Do you know how a wastegate works? Because if the above is true, and the solenoid wasn't working you'd be getting an overboost condition, not wastegate boost pressure. -

So the solenoid should have 3 'Ports' One to wastegate One to turbo One to atmosphere With the solenoid disconnected, physically blow into the turbo port, you should feel air coming out of the wastegate port and visa versa. If you hook it up to 12v, and blow into the turbo port, the air should not come out of the wastegate port, but instead out of the atmosphere one. That's all a solenoid does, directs air, either to or away from your wastegate. -

http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=878itemid=11 This will be my next outing, hopefully the rain will stay away this time. Anyone else fancy it? Good fun circuit, easy to learn and plenty of run off.

Rust is a big issue with these cars, and they're difficult to work on due to the lack of space in the engine bay. They're brilliant and I'd love another as a road car to use at weekends and what not.. Perfectly fast enough in standard guise, and superb in all weathers. I had mine for about 2 years before someone stole it and blew the engine up writing it off.. The only thing that went wrong that wasn't my own fault was the alternator, I also had a couple of drive shaft seals fail.

You're going to need as LITTLE camber as possible to get that thing of yours to grip in a straight line!!
-
Mine took loads.. I think once my larger filter, and oil cooler had filled up I was almost at 4 litres!
-
I would go to a hydraulic place and ask them to make you some up, saves faffing about with fittings like I did, it was a nightmare. If you aren't running a cooler then don't worry about oil temps, unless you intend to use it on track regularly it probably isn't needed.
-
I have one fitted to mine, I can't give you figures before, but oil pressure seems fine with it fitted. (Ignore the battered filter, was put on to make sure nothing nasty found it's way into oil system) I've mounted mine up inside the drivers inner arch. Had to go to a larger oil filter, because the standard starlet one was too small for the relocator. One thing I would advise is that you fit some sort of thermostat to it, mine struggles for oil temp, even on track. I had to cover half of my 16 row oil cooler to get any real temp into the oil, this was a warm summers afterno

I'm assuming you've had a gander at Whitecourt on the map? Looks like a very isolated town to me, a couple of hours drive into Edmonton isn't too bad. The winters will be hellish up there.. http://www.eldoradocountyweather.com/canada/climate2/Whitecourt.html

The sensor won't last long if you use the original lambda hole. It needs to be further down the exhaust. You'll need to buy a boss to have welded into your exhaust. New ones come with a boss in the box.

Anyone? Willing to buy a pair if you'd prefer not to split.
