I'm in the same position as you Lisa, my car is being put back on the road after being written off. It's just had all the repair work done, and is going for MOT next. Do I have to get tax and insurance sorted before the VIC or is it VIC then tax and insurance?

That's an awesome quote dude! ;) Don't worry about economy as long as everything is running as it should. I bought my GT stock, it was drinking like crazy which is why it worried me, thought I'd have to sell up! Managed to sort a wobbly/high idle, exhaust was blowing and the rest was down to leaky tires. Got all that sorted and it comfortably does 75 miles or so to 10 litres of V-Power. That's with a lot of hard boosting @0.8 Bar on Mine's ECU, FMIC, Ported mani, Decat, Japspeed exhaust so fairly modded!

Yep an AVCR is a good boost controller, you can set specific boost levels for gears and rpm I believe! Not sure about harnesses and compatibility though sorry
