Hi all, 59bhp HiSpec have a lot of kits on the shelf that could be used and they make everything in house. I went for 275mm discs as I know that will fit behind the 15s and require no new bracket for the calipers. I went for bell and rotor because it's lighter, gives you more choice and is cheaper in the long run. I think a standard monster 4 pot kit will set you back around £700. If you ask them for the same bell they're making for me it should save you some money as I've paid for the machine work. Then you just need to select a rotor. Give them a call and say Mark who's having the

It was 35 miles? Took me about 11 minutes.
-
Will let you know when they're built Si...could pop over our way for a beer (I'm buying) if you like? Otherwise they will ship them to me
-
hehe... The bell and rotors are £350. Next time round though it's £60 a pop for the rotors only.

Supra hybrid ftl Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Honda (although the type R is a gutless bag of spanners) are the only manufacturers still making non PC motors if I'm right? Father in law has a Prius, in Holland they got a huge rebate off the cost of the car to encourage people to go green. Have driven it a few times and I don't think it's a bad car...took me about 3 weeks to work out how to start the thing though. Plus, creeping up on old people at crossings is great fun.

I think a bastard love child of Toyota and Subaru should be called: Subota Impica Suddenly it all becomes clear how all the wank pacific rim manufacturers like Kia come up with names for their abominations loosely passed off as 'cars'
-
That GT Celica was a joke... Toyota: 'hmm we seem to have some wank bodykit left over' Toyota2: 'yes and some Celica's that didn't sell because they're a shit car' Toyota: 'I know, let's put the two together, call it a special edition and charge more' Toyota2: 'fantastic idea' Surely the fastest Toyota at the moment (if you count Lexus) is the ISF, 27 speed gearbox ftw?

Irish Maccd's have so many exciting menu options we don't get here ;)
-
The only real thing left to save weight on now is the fuel tank and spare wheel compartment...
-
I can get doors made...in CF too...but I'd have to get some cross beams for the cage so any weight saving would be lost.
-
The front wings weigh fuck all anyway...I got the Fast and Spurious reference, I'm still down with the kids ;)
-
I was thinking of making the whole bonnet quick release to save on the hinges but tbh I'm starting to clutch at straws now. I think it's impossible without lots of CF and FRP to get a GT below 700kg (which was my target)
-
If I also cut holes in the floor so I can push the car with my feet I'm going to save loads ;) seriously though, the other day I was trying to adjust the bullet on the front of the car with the handbrake off, I was pressing the bullet cam to move it backwards...whole fucking car rolled away.
-
I know Si...I got all excited at saving 500g. Over the weekend I was lay under the car (as you do) thinking 'what can I remove or lighten' and apart from the spare wheel and fuel tank I had no ideas. I bet the rear towing eye weighs a kilo ;) Hmmmmm

For sale then ;)

A/C? ;) the wonders of Mr Toyota..why on earth would you need a feed to the manifold? figures though Gaz, the A/C went before I got the car. Oh by the way, your cage proposal is fine with me man, just PM me with the details ;)
-
It looks more and more like the track star every day ;) Get that sound proofing...it was I who told you to use dry ice...but a heat gun, adhesive remover and muscles will do the job too, it doesn't have to be pretty. Stick the speedo back in and something to show the indicators/visual warning and you'll be through the MOT in no time. Now stop copying me, be innovative damnit, I expect Si to make a custom metal binnacle surround, or even copy HRF and just cable tie a stack rev gauge and speedo to the cross beam. Awesome.

Ok so maybe this is in the wrong section...this is one for the EP82 people I think, not checked on the Glanza. I was removing the bullet cam wires tonight to send it back and found a plug that I'd cable tied out of the way about 6 months ago. I followed the plug to this little box of tubes. All the tubes go to the inlet manifold so I'm thinking it's some sensor or gauge feed but it's been unplugged since I got the car over 2 years ago now...so I've removed it. Here is the box: What on earth is it? why didn't I need it? and can I simply block off the pipes or do any of them need routing t

Si would have stayed longer but some tool in a GTsT and a GTO arrived and we got thrown off the carpark Incidentally, I met a GTsT on the way home, white one. I pwned him a lot.

Went over to HiSpec today in Dartford to see what they could offer in the way of brake discs, they suggested a bell and rotor setup to save weight and improve heat discipation on the track...time to bash the bank card. While I was there, I met Mr Calnan from uksc on his way to work, a quick chat, some photos and some manly but gentle hugs later he was off.
-
hi spec it is then can you send me number?
-
Right Si...shall I meet you somewhere then for hugs?
-
I could make it but these days I'm only at home to sleep. Sorry again chaps for being rubbish. Si, I could try and get there before 10am? never been before...anywhere local for a coffee (apart from your house). I'm hoping they can sort me out with some decent bell/rotor sex for the fronts. Shell - I made it to the BlueWater meet, one before last. I'm sort of reliable.
-
Got to drop out guys...sorry Too much on at work and the wife wants to actually see me at some point this year If anyone fancies a trip to HiSpec tomorrow though while I check out some brake options...we could hug maybe? Mark
