  1. Oh and I once knew someone paying £35,000 to insure their car... Now THAT'S a lot of money Ok, so it was a Macca F1
  2. Kids When you're young, you may live in a shit area (for insurance) so you'll pay through the nose for it...I agree with everyone here though, 5k to insure a Glanza S that's worth around 3k at best? Come on..unless it's your dream car, I'd flog it, buy a cheap car to build up no claims on (chances are even a pug 306td would keep up with it) then in a year or two, use the money saved to buy a decent car that's worth the insurance costs. I pay £250 on the EP and that's not bad, I was quoted £750 last year on an E46 M3 CS...I told the insurer to behave, tit...so I bought the Ja
  3. nice one Rob I'd love to do a trackday shoot at some point mate if you're up for it?
  4. streetracer...New York? isn't that full of americans? no contest imo. They live and breath cars over there, that's worth it on its own.
  5. I've edited the first post with a breakdown of costs...roughly. For anyone who's been before and just wants to travel in a group, no problem. For everyone else we can run a fully organised trip in exchange for some beers and sex. I'd say we'd be aiming to start collecting money for the rooms (in full) and the ferry around 02/09 all being well...mods can we keep the thread pinned as it may go a while without a post till then. Enzo, I'd like to make the trip a nightSpirit/ringMuncher's thing but would love to have some uksc tie-ins aswell..that means you need to come man and show us your skill
  6. Setting this up now. As you know late August this year we went to the 'Ring for a few days. Next year we're planning the same trip, concentrating on the 'Ring itself. We're planning (subject to ring calender) to go around mid August 2009 from Friday till tuesday (allowing for a final quiet day on the track) The trip will go from Harwich on the ferry to Hook van Holland where we'll drive directly to Adenau, staying at the Hotel an Der Nordechliefe. The hotel offers rooms with up to 3 beds (apartments) and garages on a first come first served basis. I'd budget around £800 for the tri
  7. One thing that pissed me off was that most of the cars there were show ponies, never driven....very sad. Summed it up for me on our way back into the event when a full liveried, tuned evo 3 refused to move from the tarmac to the grass to let anyone past on the tight lane in, we all had to scrape the trees. cunt. You drive a 4wd rally slag. again....cunt.
  8. http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index.php?showforum=3 bottom of page....JAE pics thread
  9. Says I don't have the skillz to view it
  10. Also I'll have a nightspirit van for the trip that way we can fill it up with shit...I reckon if anyone wanting space in the van for luggage, dokeys etc just chips in to the rental cost. Will have a trailer for the EP aswell, hopefully we won't need it. Mark
  11. Enzo or some sexy mod...do you want to start a thread somewhere for this? it'd be a bit tricky to manage as we have a year to do it...and people need to commit especially if I start to book accomodation etc Mark
  12. Afternoon... Bourkey, you have to come with us next year, we're only going to do the 'Ring for a weekend (3 days maybe depending on calender) but I'm hiring a van to tow the car so you can fill it with stuff (tyres, cars, drugs, children)
  13. Ah...you're from Bristol...that explains it
  14. As the title suggests, what are the benefits to running this round the engine of the car..I think I understand the theory, it shields the engine / injectors etc from any electrical interference allowing things to run purely/un interrupted by stray signal...but why? The reason I ask is that an eunos roadster I just imported that used to be a track car has a very comprehensive earthing system on the car and I might make use of it if it's of benefit to the trackstar
  15. Not sure on the 21 rule? not something I've heard mentioned.... Obviously a full valid licence would be needed As I said, I'm happy to arrange this for August or so next year if enough of us are interested.
  16. Ok well, my spends were because I'm a slut, buying clothes, a euro satnav (tom tom 930), new tyres, wheel bearing...all fitted by audi (not cheap) In actuality, I'd say around: 100 for accomodation for 2-3 nights (each) 120 for ferry return (ish) 75 AA cover 25 travel insurance 80 on food 100 on track time 150 on fuel all rough estimates, if you're serious I'll do a proper trip plan, we're already thinking of running a ring munchers annual trip to the ring. so without the extras (travel ins and aa, which are a must imo) 550 to 600 is all you'd need. That'd be a weekend trip to the ring wit
  17. enzo bring me decals damn it!!!!
  18. cheers hopefully see you tomorrow for man hugs and 'more'
  19. you're all there already so you won't read this...I should make it there tomorrow for lunchtime got to adjust the camber for 'road use..not 20 miles on a race track use'
  20. I'm happy to organise a trip for anyone who wants in next year?
  21. the car was very comfy infact, I'm thinking more if I stack it at the track I can bring it back without a problem...means I can push it harder
  22. UKSC Ring trip 1) Sparky 2) nightSpirit 3) 4) 5) Although next year, I'm going to trailer the EP over there...it's a track car, not a grand tourer (I realised after 1600 miles)
  23. playing a game doesn't do jack shit when you're there..with the camber and hills/troughs
  24. Im confident that with good tyres and more understanding of the track, the EP could easily run sub 9s...I could run sub 10s with a few more laps...all about learning the curcuit
