  1. Cheers chaps once again. My only concern is plumbing in the fueling as it's not something I'm too familiar with. everything else should be ok. It also needs a rad pipe or two as they were cut inhalf and just flapping in the wind...going to have to be custom due to the tiny rad. Forgotten how small and simple it is next to the R32 it's drawfed by the German war machine
  2. Si you know you need to come over for a beer at some point..I miss your sexy hair.
  3. And no chaps...it won't be at JAE. Maybe next year though, priority will be to clean out the inside and tidy it all up in there, then finish off the little bits here and there. Then focusing on the engine and the fueling. Seriously if anyone wants to be a legend and help me fit and work out what fueling bits go where. Spent the best part of 3 days fitting Porsche 6 pots to the Golf..that's fun (not) as we're going for a sneaky Ring trip next sunday, the proposed road trip died a death which was my fault On the up side, my wife will be driving the 'Ring against my mates wife in an Sti, handbags at dawn.
  4. Evening all, I'd make 7k easy if I stripped the car...but it'll take more effort than finishing it. The car is back home now, got it trailered today. A couple of pics for you, it doesn't look too bad from 8 months of standing but up close and in detail...believe me it hurts.
  5. Nothing against James and the guys, they do a good job but taking the car there was the worst thing I did.
  6. Spoke to Simon the other day...3S seem to collect customer cars. If I was Simon, I'd get that car out of there and maybe it would spend more time running than sitting.
  7. Phil you crack me up... I won't get the car back for a few weeks atleast then begins the arduous (spelling) task of hunting down all the bits I need to complete the job. With the fueling upgraded I'll also need to trailer it to a garage to finish it off and map it. Anyone a dab hand at fueling?
  8. Now if only I can finish it...then possibly drive it, worried that 8 months of sitting idle will have taken its toll.
  9. Cheers chaps... The plan now is to finish it, trailer it home first though. If it's infront of the house every day I can't avoid it! Updated specs: The car weighs 700kg fully wet and has a power to weight around 330hp per tonne...NOTHING touches it if you drive it well (which I don't lol). Engine: HRF built bored/stroked, forged 1.4ltr engine. HRF V300 TD05-18G Turbo kit with exhaust manifold, wastegate and screamer..on the HRF car this helped produce 447hp at 2.1 bar. It is currently running a modest 1.2 bar due to the need for larger injectors. (At 1.2 bar it made 235hp at the GT-Art rolling road). Greddy VVC Boost controller. AP Engineering Apexi Power FC. Blitz FMIC with welded in BOV. Splitfire racing leads. Greddy oil cooler kit with relocator and Sard Mag+ race filter. Blitz SUS filter. Aluminium half width race radiator. Uprated custom puller rad fan. PAS and all ancillaries removed. Aeroquip fitment twin feed fuel rail. 550cc Blitz injectors. OS Giken twin plate clutch. Racing gearbox master cylinder. Suspension and chassis: BuddyClub Pro spec coilovers with caster and camber pillow balls. Tanabe front anti-roll bar. Cusco front lower brace. Cusco front upper brace. Cusco carbon fibre rear upper brace. Cusco adjustable panhard rod. HRR front camber bolts allowing -4 camber on the front. Brakes, wheels and tyres: Outlaw 2000 4 pot calipers. Braided lines. Endless Type NA-A pads front. Sard Type M pads rear. 275mm front custom 2 piece bell and rotor grooved discs. Wedsport race TC-05 15" rims in white. Dunlop road rubber. Aluminium 25ltr twin baffled fuel cell in boot. Spare wheel recess removed. Polycard custom door cards (to be fitted). Exterior: Modified HRF front bumper. Carbon cannards. Doobie side skirts. Custom Doobie rear bumper. Delocked. FRP JBlood rear vented bonnet. JAM carbon reverse bonnet scoop. Sparco quick release bonnet pins. ZEP Racing custom vented FRP fenders. Poly carb windows all round with drivers gurney flap. Escort WRC roof vent with interior water vent. BodyWorks SPL custom boot lid, comprising CF C-West wing and acrylic rear screen. Racing fuel cap located in rear 1/4 window (to be fitted). Full matt black paintwork. CraftSquare Carbon mirrors.
  10. Little video added to show the Simota CIA doing its thing...listen to that v6 soundtrack
  11. The EP is kind of in storage at the moment with TGT...I'll get round to doing things at the end of the month I think? It doesn't help that the Golf is such a competent weapon out of the box, that's why I don't miss the EP.
  12. The EP needs fueling, parts totalling over £800 with the little one and a Jag that needs £900 of suspension work, it's not likely to be finished any time soon. And if I'm honest, letting someone else who doesn't have the same perfectionist approach to tuning work on the car was a mistake...I'm not happy with the finish and it's spoiled the whole project to an extent. Ah well, if I do strip it, I'll offer it on here first.
  13. Evenin Enzo mate... The plan is to 'enhance' it for road/track. Filter, Milltek non-res exhaust, remap (should get it to around 265 at a push), 6 pot calipers front, uprated discs, lines etc. 18" Compomotive MO's in Anthracite. Nice to haves would be coilovers if the stock ones blow. That'd do it, subtle track weapon I think I just like to modify/tune...if whatever it is responds to tuning (hence not touching the Jag). If the EP was here, I'd finish it off and use it but having the Golf has made me think about just how much I'd use the trackstar...track days are few and far between at the moment. Could I ever sell it? I have been thinking about it...I've put a lot into that car and enjoyed it so far and if I stripped it or sold it, I'd get a few quid no doubt but it'd be such a shame to let it go. I haven't missed it though Mark
  14. Ok so the mods have begun You'll be pleased to know I've kept it JDM with a Simoto Racing filter... It sounds immense on full chat, howling like a banshee.
  15. Stock bodywork I agree, but it needs a nice set of Compomotive MO's in Anthracite.. the stock OZ rims are a pain in the arse to clean
  16. Now if it was a track weapon...fully stripped and blown....mmmmmmmmmm. Stop it Mark, BAD BAD THOUGHTS. Cashern is a fucked up film!
  17. E36 M3 or 46? I wouldn't have an E36 if you gave me one for free....shite overrated cars. On a side note, I'm taking the R over to the Ring in May! hurrah!
  18. We bought it as a replacement for the Glanza, I get about 360 miles on 50 quid of super. The mpg gauge is wildly optimistic most of the time quoting me 35 mpg on the motorway. Spec wise... 3.2ltr, close V6 N/A 238hp, 237 lb/ft 1400+kg (lardy bastard) 0-60 6.5sec 153~ mph 4WD with torque split 6 speed manual box 335 mm vented discs front with 2 pot calipers, 275?mm vented discs rear with 1 pots standard trim includes rain sensitive wipers, auto dim rear view etc. Mine has the full leather heated konig seats and factory auto sunroof. With ESP, ABS, TC etc any numpty can drive one far too quickly round corners...the ESP has already saved me a few times It's one of those cars (for me anyway) where you think..'why on earth haven't I owned one of these before now?'
  19. Few more pics of the R...still loving this car. Through the twisties it's very good. A few mods are already on the cards too Took today in the glorious sunshine. Shows off the indigo blue paintwork well
  20. Yup I didn't go either... Worked till late, then it was family time. When's the next weekend one? I'll still be in the R32 though.
  21. He was, after I convinced him to remove the seats, fit a rollcage and go all hardcore he sold it because it was shattering his spine with every journey. Some chap came over from Norway to buy it, he promptly went and bought a tuned (450hp) M5...which I have to say, is fecking fast.
  22. I love you guys...might have one more. We'll represent the german war machines. 1) JAG - SR (N) 2) Mikey Jay - Paseo (N) & Joey (N) 3) SiCaln & Mrs 4) Alexgtadv - GT 5) Al (N)- Pricklet & Sophie (N) 6) Josh - Civic (N) & Paul (N) 7) Bill - Glanza (N) & Rick (N) Rich (N) 9) NightSpirit - R32 10) Adam - E39 M5
  23. 1) JAG - SR (N) 2) Mikey Jay - Paseo (N) & Joey (N) 3) SiCaln & Mrs 4) Alexgtadv - GT 5) Al (N)- Pricklet & Sophie (N) 6) Josh - Civic (N) 7) Bill - Glanza (N) & Rick (N) Rich (N) 9) NightSpirit (sadly in the R32...trackstar is still dead)
  24. That's true Gaz...I was thinking more of the people you hear saying they need a family bus now they have kids, never understood that. Worse case scenario buy a Lucida or something for about 60p
  25. Yup I've liked these for a long time too, very understated package. Ofcourse I still have the matt black GT...and the Jag (which the wife now has as the Glanza went). The GT is taking a back seat at the moment as it needs about 800 quid of fueling and mapping doing and at the moment, with the shit weather...I just can't be arsed It's funny but Scenics/Caldins/Zafira/Spaz Bus etc etc I would NEVER buy...because they're utter shite and are sold by praying on a new families worry that they need safe/practical/room and all that crap. The r32 has all of that plus I can take it round the 'ring when I drop the family off in Holland. Merel (wife) shares my views happily on the people carrier thing. I think it's the saddest thing in the world when you see adverts for awesome much loved cars that are being sold 'baby forces sale' I just think why??
